Hello, I've been checking out the dates inside my shoes and they are all months before the release date. Does the date inside the shoe reflect the release date, or some other important date? I'm not necessarily claiming them to be fake, because they were all purchased at a local Footlocker/Scheels, which are reputable dealers. Anymore insight or information on this subject would be appreciated.

For example, here's a pair of Retro 6's I have, released on 04/17/2010, but the dates inside the shoe are different:

In case you can't read that, they are 10/28/09 (left) and 12/16/09 (right).

Thanks for reading.

its the production date.
Thanks for the quick response. I thought that might be the case. So I can assume then that you can't go off this date to authenticate a Jordan? I usually stick to craftsmanship, flaws, and model# to determine authenticity, but recently started to pay attention to these dates and that's when I became confused.

a production date is very important if you cant tell authenticity. the shoe could have multiple production runs so the date on your shoe might not be the only one thats valid for that style.

How does the production date plays in spotting fakes?

ill let common sense answer that one.
Well I can understand his confusion. I can't find anywhere that lists production dates, only release dates. Without a date to cross reference, you could throw just about any in there.

thats whats sneaker forums are for and also common sense.

if you have some fake Jordan XIs that have a production date of 1/1/13 and you know the shoe came out in 2012 then its obvious that there is an issue.

just like you asked about what a tag means, someone will ask about the production date in the LEGIT CHECK THREAD. shoeheads can help with that info.

I suppose I didn't take others knowledge into consideration. I just assumed something so vital would be listed on a website or something. Again, thanks for the input.

Yea I understand that but besides the obvious is there any other way you can tell... Is there somewhere where you can reference the dates of productions to know its legit?

About how much time

I gotta question bro. About how much time is there between date of production and date of release?

Can the dates be different on a pair of shoes? For instance, I have a pair of retro 7s that have production dates of 1/28/15-4/27/15 and the other is 1/28/15-4/28/15
