shoe releases getting taxed by employees

I currently work there and have been for years and i can say with confidence no shady stuff has been happening, for the past year i actually had to camp out for shoes a long with other employees and customers. Even when I lost on the twitter RSVP i still go and camp or do whatever it is to get the shoes.

so damn yall managers would make yall campout too?? now thats shady, at FL we use to get emails after 2-3 years i started working and it would say employees couldn't put their shoes to the side but we still did and we sold a hefty amount of shoes on the side for pocket money... and idk what yall call reselling out the back door, we didnt do that we straight up collected people money and let them come in as we would lift the gate up and down for people who was in line to come in and just say hey come in...

I'm ok with it. We have to be fair to the customers and everyone else.

THose types of people are the reason JB keeps raising the prices.

They know their is a large enough% of dumbasses to compensate for the few smart ones who boycott due to price hikes

From experience when I worked at a shoe store I would along with other employees reserve the full run of shoes and keep for ourselves. :pimp:

I'm not gonna lie, I'd be salty. Lol.

Had mall security called on me cause I lost my temper one time. I was first in line for 6/17 pack and went in and asked for my 10.5 and dude hit me with " we don't have that size"

I was like what are you talking about I'm first... He said " It's reserved for me" and he laughed like it was the funniest **** ever. I saw red and just went off the deep end.

Manager was on the phone calling security and dude got so shook he was telling the manager to hang up and just sell me the 10.5.. I didn't even want it at that point though so I told em to keep it.

Security came and those bozos just told me to leave so I Obliged.

Not one of my best moments. :smh:

damn sound like you took 3 L's that day... smh shouldve took dude shoes and security came told you to leave...

When the DMPs came out, the owner of the store I get my sneakers from told me straight up he had to sell it to me for $500 instead of the $300 msrp. I had little choice but to agree. I came on release day in mid afternoon after all the chaos and picked em up no problem. I guess an extra $200 gave me that luxury.

Honestly online is my only avenue for attaining the sneakers I want and have gladly accepted the "If I don't get them, I don't need them" mantra.

I'm not paying any retail markup for sneakers, ever. It's bad enough that "Swoosh" stopped discounting new releases. So paying retail feel wrong to me, just a spoiled former shoe employee that still has a swoosh account.

Only scooped a handful of things and I don't really rock with the market manipulation that Nike/JB has created in order to increase profits. You guys can have the "limited" LeBron's, Jordan's and Yeezy's. I just want the OG color Jordans that are always GR's anyway, 8)

When I worked at NTLA, it was well controlled. All "launch" shoes were accounted for (bill of lading), and controlled by management. There are too many layers of management at a Niketown, and they are always scared that someone from Oregon will drop in. Nobody is ******g with it. Niketowns are not run like Footlockers and Finishline, which honestly runs more like mom and pop shops with little oversight. They can pretty much do what they want with their inventory. I don't **** with those stores, never had a need to.

Niketown will raffle 2 or 3 pairs to employees depending on the amount of inventory they have on hand. You win the raffle you can use your discount and the shoes will be set aside so you can purchase on RD. If you don't win the raffle, you have to deal with the same hurdles as the general public, no damns given.

It's as fair to the customer as it can possibly be. Even the twitter RSVP system is fair, can't even get the hookup on that :smh:.

Honestly, I wouldn't even be bent, I don't frequent those establishment and these guys are taking advantage of the market. It's up to you if you want to partake in the tomfoolery.

You DON"T have to HAVE the shoes. Resellers feast on impulse buyers.

anybody ever went to a sneaker release and some managers and employees would be out in the line, telling some customers that you can get your pair now but for a mark up of $150... how would you feel... lol i mean i would see old ladies and mothers get mad... you know after they sell out they be like how yall had only like 30 people walk in and sell out...

nah but some employee tried to hook me up with a guaranteed pair early .........i felt soo cool

Were you working there at the time Shane was managing?

He was a real stand up dude and always ensured releases went smooth and as fair as they possibly could.... Well that's from the outside looking in.

Nah it wasn't that bad.. My girl was there with me as well so I sent her over to another spot in the mall and luckily they still had my size available.

Man, **** you broke *** employees trying to overcharge the customers.  I overheard an employee, at Champs in Arden, talking about reserving shoes to another customer, so I asked him about it and he told me he could reserve me a pair for $100 on top the shoes and I had to pay in cash.  I looked at him and laughed.  That's when I knew I was done with that bull ****
