NY artists in today's industry struggle to succeed. VOL. hometown radio stations dont support music

whats so funny? back then there were no mixtapes, and people got paid for features, this was da only way to get these types of records.

Your infatuation with New York artist breaking southern rappers.
No matter what, you always find a correlation between the two.
The remix wasn't changed to cater to New York at all. Jay added a lil verse.
Despite that, Ha was HOT out the gate and that video got heavy play.

Quite honestly..................... The rest of the nation should have pulled their mutiny on NYC a long time ago.
NYC can't expect to sell a product to the rest of America & reasonably think that you won't see push-back when you act as if culture is exclusive & will forever be monopolized by a few in certain city. That's not rational. That's not the way it works. Otherwise, keep making hip hop music in the parks of The Bronx for free.
Provincialism is what killed NYC & will continue to kill NYC. Myopic, small minded types with dreams of big checks & self aggrandizement while intentionally marginalizing everyone else. If you wanted the culture to be all about NYC, than don't sell yourself nationally & globally with a purposefully watered down universal sound.
NYC lost their way in the late 90's. They thought they could ***** & commercialize themselves for money, violating their own code while still attempting to tell others what is & isn't a acceptable. Nope.
NYC played themselves for short money. They undermined their own principals & everyone else followed suit. NYC egotistically expected a double standard.

NYC didnt fall off because of an attitude it fell off because simply put their was a lack of all around talent from the new generation of rappers. This is no longer the case and they are slowly but surely grabbing their spots up along with our vets CONSTANTLY putting out good music.

and as far as us acting exclusive NYC has always showed love (Atleast from what i remember 98 on to ALL other regions) its the other regions that don't support NYC and just have an overall what seems to be bitterness towards the region because they EXPECT us to be a certain way.

Either way the that region **** is all about dead in Hip-Hop nowadays because people from all parts of the country our getting equal looks and opportunities. The same thing you accuse NYC of is already happening in ATL. Jeezy & TIP the rulers of that region and a lot of the young boys and the vets who ain't on their level our all fighting amongst one another.

What the **** is dusty?! Is it New 90s baby slang to **** on the classic beats?! Don't be mad lil ******

I mean look at what "Exhibit C" did i mean it's not a New York record but it has the sound of it. I Don't know if it was getting spins but everyone knew about it.....

people make heat and it doesn't get played...thats da problem.
There is no agenda against "good" rappers . . . the radio station has to pay bills so they are going to play what will get people to listen . . . if Action Bronson and Roc Marciano got people to listen that's what would get played . . .

The reason why radio doesn't play your favorite artists is because no matter how much of a fanbase you think he has . . . fact is you are apart of a minority . . .

Hence why French and Rocky get played because people want to hear them . . . .

This isn't even just New York, it applies to pretty much any rapper . . .
