"Remember The Sneakerheads"

Before retros it was less hype but actually more elitism if you had the new Jordans. People would always comment/compliment/long stare when walking around the mall, basketball tournaments or anywhere really. It was like wow he has "The Jordans" on, he's doing it. If you were really doing it at basketball tournament you'd walk in wearing the 12s/13s/14s and switch into the Jordan Teams just to play in.

Do any San Jose/Bay Area guys know Coach Creighton from Wilcox HS in Santa Clara? He had the realest Jordan connection since the 90s, maybe even the 80s. He literally had every Jordan a week or two before they came out and rocked it with the complete matching fit, socks, shorts, shirt, sweatsuit and hat. They even had a write up on him in the paper when he got his whole team 11s :pimp:.

man i have some old pics of me in OG concords and OG 14s.

i remember when kids would skip school to cop jordans.

i remember when i would have my eyes glued to the tv just so i could see what shoes players were wearing on the court.

and back then dont get caught slippin in an older jordan model or you would get roasted.

Yeap...I remember skipping class to cop the OG XI's only to come back after lunch rocking the shoes. 8) felt like a boss.

My brother in law got me in to jays in 93.  Went to visit my sister in mississippi and her husband had a room floor litered with all different jays...he balled in every pair dude was serious!!I  I begged to let me get a pair and its funny now that i think about it cus l didn't even really know him that well. I was hungry after that! I paid 35 dollars for my first pair of jays. they were Playoff xii, kid i got them from was starting varsity forward i was second guard jv...I just used to stare in his locker that was next to mine n prey he would just be slippin one day n leave it un locked.

WHATEVER HAPPENED to RetroKid???

I remember the article he did in the Jordan Brand magazine. All those military 4's. 8)

Alex is at Nike.

I ended up getting an article in the Jordan Brand mag before it stopped. I wish it still released. I thought it was pretty cool.

I met Alex and some other OG members at the Sacramento Love Truck. Ijapino I met at NTSF when he was working there.

I remember getting the wht/blk 12s late. I traded them in shortly after for the wht/red 12s (couldn't get both). That summer I painted them flipping the colors for a basketball tournament I was in with friends. We all had diff colors but I think mine were the hottest.

It's crazy I have a story for every pair that come out. I tell my connect a story every time I pick up a pair.
