Cliffs: Her goal is to make chocolate that looks and tastes like broccoli but has all the ingredients of broccoli.

I completely disagree, when a majority of gamers are not smashing how can that be good for you :smh::lol:.

68,000 years? sheesh

There was a pro gamer interviewed on 60 minutes some years back. They said he had increased synaptic response.

Even David Patreaus, actually had a cameo and led some of the design of black ops 2 said the games give soldiers increased battlefield awareness more games they play.

Problem with this is that we call them games instead of what they really are....simulations.

The better the graphics and effects get, the more we are delving into total VR immersion.

the debate is really over semantics.

No they aren't

I'm more on this side of things. Although I love them, they're time wasters. Nothing productive gets done when I play a video game.

People who played action-based video and computer games made decisions 25% faster than others without sacrificing accuracy, according to a study.

Electronic gameplay has its downside. Brain scans show that violent videogames can alter brain function in healthy young men after just a week of play, depressing activity among regions associated with emotional control, researchers at Indiana University recently reported.

Put myself in the dog house last night because I kept telling my girl "one more game" for like 5 games of COD. She told me she hates this video game and it's a strain to our relationship. Am I mad? No. I've had sex with her over a thousand times but never got a LODESTAR until last night :pimp:

Lodestar > yambs

Actually did a paper last night on violent media. There were more positives to video games than negatives.

It's all dependent on how about that life you are. Companies have been built on solely playing video games.

completely agree with that video. me being an ex WoW player, she pretty much nailed it on the dot. now, i dont tackle those "bosses" in real life, but i do have team objectives for a job and in a wierd way, I think that game kind of prepared me for it. 8)

I've sat in meetings with my team and we've literally talked about how sad it is that we could take care of the logistics of a 40 man C'thun battle but we can't finish some programming rigging tools and get them implemented correctly.

The difficulty of vanilla 40 man raids in WoW>real life projects

As a developer I'm bias In regards to the overall feelings about that they can be good for you. If you branch out a bit and start looking at gamification you can certainly see benefits through motivating people and how much its been integrated into everything outside of video gaming.

Ore No Ryori taught me the ins and outs of restaurant ownership. I think I was the only guy in Pittsburgh to have that game, 'cause most of the time, nobody knew what the eff I was talkin' about.
