PACIFIM RIM -- directed by Guillermo Del Toro

Jax, Stringer bell, the guy who directed the Hellboy movies, and big ***** robots & monsters? I'm in.

Pretty disappointed with the trailer actually. It wasnt cut that great and the dude doing the narration in the beginning sounded like a joke, like a bad anime dub. The cgi on the robots and monsters were pretty weak, hope it looks better on release.

The music for the trailer was pretty weak too, all I remember is the inception-horn ripoff sounding cue.

Expected better

yea. I mean most of the scenes with the robots were at night, so you couldnt really see that well. And why didnt they just have charlie hunnam speak in his normal australian accent. It wouldve sounded less forced.

Looks interesting :nerd:

Based off something else?

Book or movie ?

Del Toro was inspired by his love japanese kaiju. you know, people in monster and robot suits. Pretty much power rangers, super human samurai etc

its an "original" work. In the sense that the idea isnt new, but its not based off of anything. And I wish a director and studio would do a gundam wing movie. Itd be too dope

Damn GLaDOS is in this joint too 8)

I noticed that...is it the actual voice or just a cheap imitation?

Looks good though.

Asked for a dream developer to work with, Del Toro said he's a big fan of Valve and the games they make. In fact, one of the robots in Pacific Rim will be played by voice actress Ellen McClain, also known as GlaDOS from Valve's Portal series. "I called the guys at Valve and said, you know how much I am a fan of Portal, can the AI be GlaDOS?" Del Toro said.

A gundam wing movie would be awesome. I'm just scared hollywood would screw it up " Last Airbender" style

That dude ain't Australian haha

Slightly off topic it.

What was that mech show they would give on Cartoon Network around the same time of cowboy bebop?

Dudes mech had powerful fists that would loud up like a slingshot from behind and a butler that helped him :nerd:

Big O
yeah, my fault. hes english. For soem reason he sounded aussie when I heard him once

All good haha. His American accent is terrible if you watch Sons Of Anarchy, you know what I mean.

After watching the trailer again, I feel like this will bomb
