Anyone watching First Take??? Rob Parker just said is "Is RG3 a brother or a cornball brother"

In this particular case, what is it? I think insecurities is the main cause for putting down the next man for valuing education, speaking properly, and for being himself.
Nah I was talking about the dude that said if RG didn't play football and he went to his school, he would get fired up every day because he looks like a gump.

Joaning on somebody doesn't necessarily mean the joaner is insecure.

What I think about RG3....

he didn't choose this route, it choose him

Dude is from a military home, he's from texas a very republican state, he was an honor student, he was a class president, he graduated a semester early, he went to Baylor at 17, he's a great athlete.

Face it man black women didn't want this dude.   Black dudes weren't in his honor classes.  Its lonely up at the top for a young black man that lives the live he did.  Him being an athlete was probably his best connection to those that "looked like him".  I don't know him personally to say his a cornball but its obvious he is a product of his environment and has accepted the circle around him.

Not surprised he married a white girl.  Thats probably the only type chicks that was giving him play before he blew up into "RG3".  I like the dude and his confidence and what he represents to young black athletes but we gotta be real "hes different".

Large print = what is actually true.

Larger print = what YOU assume. And honestly, you come off no more intelligent than Parker with your baseless and ignorant comment(s).

Funny thing is you guys try to pretend we live in a colorless, equal opportunity country.

Even from a females POV.....I live in the DMV and I hear what females say about homie.  They don't think hes atrractive at all.  Imagine how bad it was when he was in HS? when he had braces? acne? its tough for a dark skin black male and certains things will mold your personality....but ya'll don't wanna hear that.

You think if all the Beyonce's down in Houston was getting at him he wouldn't have one?.....please try again

Yeah ok...some of yall can't accept the truth. The things he was into growing up are not the same as other young black men. Hell not even normal kids of any race. Go in a honors class and tell me who you see. Whites. Asians, Indian, and usually the blacks are 1st generation Americans meaning their parents are African immigrants. Between a high academic schedule and football when did he have time to kick with the homies? Fastforward to Baylor. We are the minority at every big university. Add him being an athlete what white women showed more love. His personality is not what young black/ Latina women want and yall know it.

How well do you know RG3?  Personally, I mean.

Did you even know who he was before 2009? 2011?

But you know the kind of things he was into growing up and how the Black women around him growing up felt about him?  Or who he hung out with as a kid and how often he had the opportunity to interact with other Black people?

You made a lot of broad statements and assumptions about dude's life and upbringing.

Then you make a self-contradictory statement like this
I don't know him personally to say his a cornball but its obvious he is a product of his environment and has accepted the circle around him.
and you're gonna act like you don't sound ignorant?

You're right.  You don't know him personally.

Funny you think there's this fantasy world where everybody is accepted and interacts with each other equally.

Sidenote. his fiance name really is Becky

Word.  You answered my question.  You didn't know anything about him.  I'll spare you with the saying about assuming.

Son.. I hope you're joking.
I was in honors classes and played football/track, and had a job.
Had plenty of time. This is high school we're talking about.

were you a high d-1 athlete taking visits, going to spring ball, Nike combines, allstar games, 7 on 7s.....

where are you from (state, city) and how many other black males were in your honors classes?

Also he was the school president. Student government takes alot of your time too.

You're arguing that being a successful minority means you won't have time to meet other minorities because they're all too busy failing at things/other minorities somehow won't be interested in knowing you, simply because you're successful.  Then you're arguing he was so successful and good at sports that Black/Latino women wouldn't be interested in him, but that White women definitely would?

I don't even know why I'm acknowledging this, I feel dumb.

D-1 double A athlete. I did all of those things you listed. Not even close to RG3's level but yeah I did.
That brought me closer to other black males.
With him doing track and basketball as well, you don't think he connected to other minorities?
I'm from Dallas, Texas. It's true there weren't a lot of other black males in my classes but not every class is AP in high school.
I didn't do government but I was on the senior leader panel.
And I had a job. This is high school we're talking about.

you read it wrong.

the whole point was RGIII the person has interest and traits that young black women aren't attracted to.  R3III the person was in social circles (honor classes, student government) that has less minorities than an average student.  RGIII parents didn't have him out with the homies like Kendrick.

RGIII the football player would get all kinds of women now.  White, black, latina, etc.....but back when he was Robert I promise you it was easier for him with the white girls than the black girls.

Not sure what your point is?

My point is his priorities were super high.  Most kids of any race don't have those type or priorities.  But as a black male its rare and the higher up you go the less people look like you.  The dude's off the field life isn't similar to other black athletes.

Ya'll can make me the bad guy. But all of us have seen dudes like RGIII. Not trying to bash the dude my whole point was I'm not surprised by his words/actions given his background/bio

Rg3 is a black beast
Nuff said Big deal
He wifed the white chicken
Big deal he's not liberal
He's Finna to be a big deal
Rob Parker is wack af
Powerballin too..

I just answered your questions..
You keep making baseless assumptions.
You assume black and latino girls didn't want him based on what? Him being educated?
Really?

I see points to both arguments.

I do disagree about black women not wanting him even before he was a pro. Playing basketball all my life...I know all too well that if you're a high level athlete you're going to get box offerings from all women period from middle school all the way up. I don't care how many black women you see saying he's ugly on twitter or in your classrooms...I'm positive black chicks been throwing the box at him since HS. But just like dude said...he just seems like the "white women" type of brother honestly.

Don't know RG3 personally and I didn't see the video of the First Take comments to judge appropriateness and context....but if you're a young black man that votes Republican and marries white in 2012....you're a cornball in my eyes too.

Crabs in a bucket mentality running strong in the Media and here on NT.....sad but not surprising. :smh:
