2013 NFL Draft thread - ( Early Entrees, Mocks, Combine etc ) - Page 15

He probably won't but he's shooting himself in the foot from Day 1 if he does... Geno Smith is not a franchise QB. You're throwing the #1 pick down the toilet drafting him.
Why not have the Chiefs take a LT #1, and then with the first pick of the second round, grab a QB? Worked for San Diego grabbin LT at 5, and takin Brees to start the second round, nobody knew Brees would turn into this Brees. Reid is good with QB's, he could take a round 2 guy like Wilson, Barkley, somebody like that that played the spot in college for a solid 3-4 years, and coach them up. That way you don't waste value of the #1 and you can add an elite guy to protect whatever QB you play to boot.

Is Geno
Rd 2 LT

better than

#1 LT
Barkley?

Iono, just bouncin the idea out there, but that'd be the play I made if I wasn't sold on a #1 QB type like Luck/RG.

Tharold Simon declared? Didn't really think he had an elite year last year like the last 2 big names from LSU.

Wonder what Mingo & Montgomery are gonna do

That move paid off big time though.

So did taking McNabb, obviously.

As far as Geno goes, he is definitely going to go top 5. I personally don't think he should, but teams will always reach for a QB, and considering what is going to be left on the board after him at the QB position, if a team needs one and has a shot, they need to take him.

How you suggest to me to watch film and then mention youtube like that counts as "film"? laugh.gif

Anyways, Richard Seymour has steadily declined with production over the last three and he'll most likely not be back with the team. There's a good chance Tommy Kelly may be let go too, which would leave an even bigger gap in the middle of our defense. But since the young man has thrown his name into the draft, I'd gladly take Jarvis Jones over both Star and Geno. As bad as we were against the run, we were worse at getting to the QB. Can't win in this league without putting pressure on a QB.

Well where else are you going to watch it? laugh.gif Plus for a lot of big name players in the drafts there are videos where it gives you every down they play in a game. My point is Star is not worthy of a first round pick, let alone top 5. I am interested to see how Jones checks out medically, I would love for the Lions to take him or another pass rusher.

I agree with whoever said though that they would rather have more 2nd round picks than a first. Outside of Joeckel I really don't think there is one stand out must have player at the top of the first round.

Now, that sounds like a cool idea to get a better feel for a player overall.

Interesting. Where exactly do you feel his weaknesses are? Or is it just inconsistent play?

And Jarvis seemed to hold up well at Georgia...

For Star he just doesn't seem like a standout player like the analysts have hyped him up to be. He isn't a great pass rusher at all. And he struggles to get off double teams, against college opponents. He just doesn't seem to me like he has what it takes to be a huge impact player at that position in the NFL.

With Jarvis he suffered a neck injury I believe his freshman year. I agree he seems to be alright at GA but the physicals he will go through at the draft may bring up some red flags if there are any.
