2013 NFL Draft thread - ( Early Entrees, Mocks, Combine etc )

Tharold Simon declared? Didn't really think he had an elite year last year like the last 2 big names from LSU.

Wonder what Mingo & Montgomery are gonna do

The fact that Star is your personal favorite for the Raiders pick at #3 is crazy to me, I suggest you watch some film on youtube on him and reevaluate your stance. As far as Geno goes, he is definitely going to go top 5. I personally don't think he should, but teams will always reach for a QB, and considering what is going to be left on the board after him at the QB position, if a team needs one and has a shot, they need to take him.

How you suggest to me to watch film and then mention youtube like that counts as "film"?

Anyways, Richard Seymour has steadily declined with production over the last three and he'll most likely not be back with the team. There's a good chance Tommy Kelly may be let go too, which would leave an even bigger gap in the middle of our defense. But since the young man has thrown his name into the draft, I'd gladly take Jarvis Jones over both Star and Geno. As bad as we were against the run, we were worse at getting to the QB. Can't win in this league without putting pressure on a QB.

Well where else are you going to watch it? Plus for a lot of big name players in the drafts there are videos where it gives you every down they play in a game. My point is Star is not worthy of a first round pick, let alone top 5. I am interested to see how Jones checks out medically, I would love for the Lions to take him or another pass rusher.

I agree with whoever said though that they would rather have more 2nd round picks than a first. Outside of Joeckel I really don't think there is one stand out must have player at the top of the first round.

Now, that sounds like a cool idea to get a better feel for a player overall.

Interesting. Where exactly do you feel his weaknesses are? Or is it just inconsistent play?

And Jarvis seemed to hold up well at Georgia...

For Star he just doesn't seem like a standout player like the analysts have hyped him up to be. He isn't a great pass rusher at all. And he struggles to get off double teams, against college opponents. He just doesn't seem to me like he has what it takes to be a huge impact player at that position in the NFL.

With Jarvis he suffered a neck injury I believe his freshman year. I agree he seems to be alright at GA but the physicals he will go through at the draft may bring up some red flags if there are any.

having multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd this year will better than having a 1st
this only works if you know how to draft

i swear some of yall overrated the hell out of what the pats and other teams do with all that trading for more picks and they do nothing with it and draft bums
