NT...WHY YALL BE IGNORING THE BOY?? I GOT HEAT! VOL. DAVID VINES

I can't believe it's almost been a month since I first dropped this! Much love and thanks to everyone who has bumped this already and is enjoying it.

I know it takes time, but everyone else will pay attention one day. But y'all are some of the first :pimp:

D, this **** been on constant repeat since you dropped it. You know you got something when half the tracks can make a brotha's "slow it down" playlist for that late night session with a female. I already got dudes callin' this the Cuffin' Season Soundtrack

Even a track like "Law & Order" that you dropped a couple years ago still sounds fresh and timeless. You know I need more, fam.

My MAIN MAN DMV, it's been a wild ride fam, and I can't express how excited I am for you to see you get this project out. I've been listening to it the past couple of weeks and I can really hear the effort and care you put into this. We've come a long way from shoddy Photoshop's for album covers and bootleg quality recordings. First off I want to tell you that the music is well crafted, the packaging is on point and the overall presentation should give the music the attention it deserves.

Now the nitty-gritty:

The progression with your concepts really shows here, I'm glad to see that you've discovered your own sound. I can honestly say that Fly735 doesn't sound like anything else right now (and I mean that in a good way). Despite your obvious progression I see that you're still infatuated with the word "girl".

You've always had a good ear for the underlying music for your vocals, that continues here. To my earlier point multiple sounds and vibes and tempos are blended very well throughout the project. ( I have to be honest, I listened to it on random so if there was a flow you were going for I missed it but all the songs seem to fit together.

I'm a firm believer that an album needs one track that makes you come back to it, not necessarily a "single" type track but one special track that resonates with a listener and makes them come back. For me that was the CRIMINALLY short "Testimony". It is everything that Fly735 should be. Coffee with it's back and forth hip/funk vibe I LOVE it and I might have to add The Want's to "that" slow jams mix. Take that plus Pigeons Still Fly is KILLING that sample, and you've got tracks that will keep this in rotation well into the year.

I was going to do a disclaimer but you know I ain't gonna tell you nothing wrong.

As an artist I think it shows in some of the arrangements of your tracks, I kept thinking that you were running over yourself. I took a song I wrote to a singer I know and he asked me "Do you rap?" when I told him "yes" he said "I can tell, you wrote this song like a rap." Your song have sooooooo many lyrics and between the layering and the way your last word runs into the first word of the next line I felt like you had too much song to cram into the beats.

And I just didn't like Morning Love (hate-hate-hate-hate-hate!)

It's an outstanding representation of who you are as and artist and where you are right now!

Just caught my 2 YEAR OLD daughter singin, "I been gone for a minute..be back in a minute, maybe!"

:pimp:

I'll try to get some video footage later today lol

I had an hour drive today, so I gave the album a listen. I really liked it. I could tell it is something you really put your all into from the production to the vocals to the lyrics, and it shows in the finished product. Congrats

I'm glad that the more you listen to it, the more you enjoy it.  In all honesty, I wrote most of these songs between the ages of 19-22.  I'll be 25 in June.  That's how long it took me to make enough money to get this thing right, and to make enough money to have food on the damn table lol.  The next album won't take as long, because I'm in a much better place.  It's struggles...but they pale in comparison to what I was going through when I made this album.  I'm really happy that I have songs that are 2-3-4 years old, and NO ONE can tell.  I want my music to be timeless. I'm in this for the long run...**** a 15 min of fame

G...thank you so much for the entire review bruh.  I really appreciate you taking the time to do that

I heart and soul is all over this record, and I'm just happy that you and others are able to notice that.  I definitely tried to create my own sound, and I just want to continue to grow and evolve as an artist.  You definitely have to listen to the album in the proper order tho
laugh.gif
...it definitely changes things.  As far as the songs having so many lyrics...that definitely comes from the fact that I'm such a hip hop head, and I rap too.  I'm the last verse on Pigeons Still Fly...as well as the first verse singing.  I do both.  But I didn't want to rap much on this album because it's just not time for all that yet lol.  But I definitely use flow patterns in my vocal delivery like an MC, and I use metaphors and wordplay because IMO, it added to the intelligibility of the record.  I needed everyone to hear my thoughts and feelings exactly how I experienced them.  I'm not trying to be a traditional R&B singer.  R.Kelly is one of my biggest musical heroes...but I'm not him.  I'm trying to take the genre in a new direction...

Thanks for all the love you've been showing man.  It truly means a lot.  This whole thing can be discouraging at times because I'm literally doing this **** by myself.  But it's a process.  And people such as yourself make it that much easier and it makes it worthwhile to know my efforts are being appreciated.  Peace bruh...

.  I really did put my all into this, and as an artist, I can guarantee to each and every one of you that you will never click on something with my name on it that I don't stand by.  Quality over quantity.  I'm here to offer you the best of my abilities and the support I've received thus far in return is beautiful.

A year ago, I first posted some of my music and I shared with you all my story.  On January 1st, 2014, I independently released my debut album, "Fly...735" online via my website, www.IAMDavidVines.com
A year later...a lot has taken place.  I finally saved up enough money from my job to get my album printed.  I had 1,000 copies made and I just hand em out whenever I can.  When I'm on the bus goin to work in the morning, if I see someone wit headphones headboppin...then I slide them a CD.  The look on their faces is always priceless..."How much is this?" they ask, and I say "Nothing.  Just go bump this!"

I also toured on the low with my band out in LA.  We did a lot of venues over the summer such as The House Of Blues:Sunset and The Viper Room.  I stopped doing shows in September when my drummer and keyboard player got picked up to go on tour for Big Sean.  I'm itching to get back on stage early in 2014, so if any of you live in LA, you should come out to a show.  I would love to have you there!

I am an independent artist.  I have no financial backing, and I am doing this on little to nothing.  I'm not making a single dime from this right now, because currently, the world doesn't know about me.  But in 2014, they will.  And it's with my love for this music that I share this album, and I hope that you all continue to connect with the messages and sentiments that I'm relaying.

My album, "Fly...735" is officially on the following:

iTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fly...-735/id598074448

This is all me.  I'm proud of the underlying work that I've put in this year.  I may not be known by many, but I believe that will soon change.  I have been shooting videos for some of the new singles on the album.  I also have a mixtape that will be coming early next year as well.   If you loved the album, please continue to spread the word.  I really appreciate the support!   I'm definitely looking forward to 2014, and to the opportunity to continue bringing you all quality work.  My heart is all over this...always.  Peace and Love!
