Random question for everyone, since this randomly came up on another forum a few days back. If you had had creative control over this story (Dragon Ball as a whole) would you have handled things differently? Ended it earlier? Made someone else the main character? Killed someone off? Etc.
 
I would have kept Goku dead after the Cell Saga. Also would have elevated the rest of the cast. Having all these characters and only 2-3 of them actually do the real leg work is stupid

I actually like how they did Vegeta's character 

Only changes I would have made is
  • Make ss4 Cannon (But Only Gohan can do it, Because Gohan is the Cell Saga Goat)
  • Broly Cannon
  • Wished Bardock back to life with no memories pior to the freeza thing so when he wakes up, He travels to earth to conquer it.
  • Give Piccolo, some screen time! 
Not really a need for Goten and Trunks if Gohan and Vegeta are still alive,

But seeing them in their teenage forms participating in fights would be

Add some pieces from Xenoverse just to spice it up
 
would like to see vegeta take in ubb as his son. right with lving with them so trunks can play that big brother role

but still let ubb get the edge everytime so trunks can finally have the same issues as future trunks...trying to impress father in full circle

also let the kids grow up...pan be susper sayian...goten doesn't cut his hair..let it be about them 3 (trunks, goten & ubb)

have adventures ,  and have goten becoming the opposite of gohan show have him fighting in school then ditches it to train like his father

you can also include the 3-4 man fusion like they doing in that new dragonball game

that would help scale out battles for mugs who like to complain

it could be just a manga for all i care dont even need to cartoon it out ...hmm

Would've brought Garlic Jr. back after the Cell saga and have him fuse with/posses Dende. Gohan is forced to kill his friend in order to save earth.

I def would have made Gohan more relevant in super and power scaled Goten and Trunks up and keep Goku and Vegeta at SSB max...no more power ups for them. They're gonna have to pass the torch eventually and it would make more sense if they left it to people that are actually strong and train instead of passing it to weaklings while they're on God tier strength continuing to get stronger.

makes since , i would atleast had gohan fight along future trunks in the black goku arc. Gohan would of gotten washed but that would of been the catalyst triggering trunks unexplained power jump ( gohan dying again in front of trunks ). But its getting really stale seeing goku and vegeta all the time

it seems like all the half breeds
gohan
trunks
goten

although they're powerful in nature
their half human-side doesn't really
want them to be fighting
they wanna do regular human stuff

gohan pre-cell era was just some kid scared of stuff
picollo forced him to train

it's not like he ever had a desire to be the best
he kind of felt forced to train due to the circumstances
that were popping up

even fighting cell, he didnt want to fight him. he just finally
snapped and got angry to unleash the killing edge inside him

time skip
he enrolls to high school
professor says gohan aced every subject in the entrance exam

dont forget gohan was a goofball when he was with piccolo
and he had a freaking mushroom cut in the frieza saga
he always was a cornball

he was only a badass after goku trained him in the hyperbolic
time chamber to destroy cell... he was a badass for a WEEK........ became soft after no evil popped up in canon
 
Goten and Trunks do like fighting though...

Gohan is the only one that's ***** made.

refer to the 10 yr timeskip (The final episodes of Z)

Vegeta admires Pan's attitude towards the tournament
And says Trunks is a wuss
Meanwhile, Goten complains after Goku asks
him to join the tourny (says he has a date on the same day)

Later on, the results of the draw show that Goten had to face Buu
and Goku jokes, "Looks like you can catch up with your date after all"



back to Super-
I guess we're going to figure out why
Trunks and Goten won't be participating
in the Multiversal Tournament
 
Repped everyone who responded to my question, I appreciate it. As for me, were I to change anything with this series:

Have Goku passing the torch to Gohan at the conclusion of the Cell Saga stick, letting Goku die and leaving him in Other World. Afterwards, i'd continue with Gohan as the main character throughout the Buu Saga, also ending it with him.

Goten and Kid Trunks would still be around however, playing some type of minor role, perhaps even still fusing into Gotenks and fighting Buu for a bit.

Z, as a series, ends there, and i'd move either into GT or Super. For either series, i'd retire Gohan as the main character and push Goten and Kid/Teen Trunks into the spotlight.

There are a lot of other, minor things i'd change as well, such as writing in ways for other characters besides Saiyans, namely Piccolo and Tien, to continue developing and increasing in strength, so that they could have solid roles in each arc as well. I might even give some of the characters their own mini-arcs too, in which they could really shine. While Goku would now be dead, i'd definitely have written an arc or two for him in Other World, with him meeting different fighters from the past, from all over the universe.
 
Broly has long since felt like she was born in the wrong body and finally feels like how she was meant to be. A beautiful woman. She now wants to be called Braly.
 
I don't think she's Broly but a Saiyan from either Cabba's universe or a new universe entirely and she's the legendary super saiyan in that universe.
