Official DragonBall Z Thread. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You will be missed

Facts. Every version of Red is better than Ash, not only as a trainer, but as a character. Son has literally been stuck in the same cycle for 20 years, with barely any type of character development. That's one of the main reasons i've always considered Digimon to have the superior anime.

@Ambitious Sole Thanks for the advice and repped. Not sure if i'll ever buy GT though  Part of me feels like I should, for completions sake if nothing else, but I don't know that i'd ever watch it more than once.

I didn't get any sense that Krillin got a power up. He just learned not to be a ******** anymore for his job, which I never really understood in the first place. He's gone toe to toe with saiyins, androids, and other beings infinitely stronger than humans (albeit getting washed every time), and yet, he's unnerved by his job being a police officer.

I'm pretty sure if someone caught him off guard and shot him, he'd still die. So its not unwarranted. I mean Goku almost got snuffed by a grunt with a laser.

Does Red ever appear on a Pokémon episode?
Not in the official Pokémon anime. He's a character in the Pokémon origins anime

But to the other guy above, Red serves a different purpose than Ash. Ash is a kids show character. He's not supposed to really progress or anything, because then the anime would be over. Essentially in Japan Pokémon is like an evergreen kids show. You grow out of it and a new generation comes along. You aren't supposed to watch it for 20 years and hope for development

Team rockets never going to capture any Pokémon. Ash will always lose in the Pokémon league, hell go to a new country and start over

Red is the in game main character for red blue and yellow. And also the main character in the first portion of the Pokemon manga series.

Red is everything Ash wants to be.
Ash gets all the girls though. Look at his roster over the years

Gettig girls is meaningless if you don't smash.

Not at all. That's like saying the games or manga can't continue or show development. That's the main problem with the show. They easily could have shown development by moving on to new protagonists, just like every other branch of the franchise does. They simply made the choice to continue with Ash and then to have it so that, outside of the Orange League, he never wins a League competition  They've stated before that as long as they're still making games they'll still be making the anime, so Ash's presence isn't even necessary.

Have to make ash win soon.

Dude almost had it last season.
He definitely grew as a character. He used to be a kid who didn't know crap to being confident with his skills.

lol the DBZ thread turned into a Pogaymon thread

real talk, they need to get Ashyboy out the hot seat and inject some new blood. tired of this fool and his lack of awareness of type advantages. funny thing is if he didnt start over every region and used his collective Pokemon, he'd actually be compotent

Pokémon isn't like your typical anime. It's more like the Simpsons with a little more structure as he has an overall goal. And I'm just saying what the anime makers have said that ash couldn't win or his journey would be over(not the anime per se)

And i'm saying that that's poor reasoning and always has been. Simply put, they made the anime wrong, writing themselves into a hole. They just don't care about said hole

And Iron Man 3 earned some of the most money out of the entire MCU. No one's arguing that the anime hasn't been successful, we're talking about whether it and the protagonist are actually good in the long run.

I'm wit it.

Red > Ash by a long shot. Not even comparable tbh. Red is the trainer the whole series was based on.

The fact alone that my man had the respect of his charizard > Ash's existence.

Like the meme said, Ash's pokedex was probably only full because Red filled it.

Origins was a short series that as an adult I can watch and enjoy. It had a plot, and it ended.

To be honest, they should do Dragonball like that. Maybe a short series of 10(maybe 7) hour long episodes like an HBO series, uncut, OVA style. Taking you from Saiyan Saga through his final battle with Buu.

Resurrection F quality animation, new original soundtrack, subbed not dubbed, and skipping all filler.

Might have to look into it now.. So it's practically Kai but not censored?

Damn.. a 10-12 episode run like that would be kind of dope.. like if they showed it from the different perspectives of different characters like Origins did.

Origins was dope.

And I do feel that Ash could win and it be okay.. the anime wouldn't be over per se because new generations always come out so he'll always have to travel and beat the next region..

Oh, and they have to not make Goku an idiot, show the earth warriors in combat more (at least in battle against saibamen, cell JR's, training), keep Vegeta and Piccolo's stricter vibes, cut that Great Sayan man BS out along with the filler, and have an overall more serious tone.

Kinda like what DB Uncut should really be.

In Super Goku is much less of an idiot lol.. Well atleast in the *** verison.

He's more of just a one track mind.. I need to fight kind of guy haha. But Goku being an idiot kind of made his character super likeable to me.

Like in the movie vs. Janemba, dude is a clown

kai is cropped and removed the filler, i dont know if kai is uncensored

cuz i only have watched it 10 mins and already found out that it was garbage
