Let's be real here, SS2 is just SS1 with electric stuff. DBZ isn't dead, it's actually the same. The difference if just now we are older and see how ridiculous it all is

DBZ is going in a weird direction that's all I can say. I think that super saiyan God stuff is weird a bit but I wanna see what else Toriyama has in mind before saying it's trash or worse than before

When I rewatched as an adult, I enjoyed DB far more than DBZ. Kai might've made dbz better but I haven't checked it out.

After cell saga it was dying, the buu saga was good but lacked something
SS god didnt kill it but was the dagger to ebd it quickly

Adding to us being younger DBZ was the first of it's kind so it got a pass on a lot of things.The problem now is that AT is still using his same ol tired *** fomula in 2015 after so many manga/anime that have been inspired by DBZ have done it so much better and more.

A recurring theme in this thread is that Goku mastered SS so he has no need to go to SS2 or SS3 yet he used SS3 against Beerus
So he might as well use SSGSS3 in the next movie as it seems he still uses it

Love the show, grew up on it... with that being said, I think what kind of watered dbz down was the fact that the formula started becoming so predictable and harder and harder to fathom. The characters (sayians specifically) would achieve a power level so unbelievably strong and conquer the villain, then completely out of nowhere another evil character would somehow show up conveniently stronger than the Z warriors despite their astronomical gains.
