Goku got whooped by the Cell Jr.'s like everyone else. Granted he was weak from the fight, but if he was a strong as you claim he shouldn't have had a problem.

At the end of DBZ he claimed he could've beat Buu in the first fight where he turned SS3 the first time but wanted to let someone else floss which is why the situation went out of hand.

So it is a possibility that he couldve defeated Imperfect Cell and chose not too but I doubt it.

Let's be honest, the only thing Goku has over Vegeta is the ability to turn SS3, which has been stated many times that is a useless transformation anyway.

By the Buu Saga, from base to SS1 to SS2, THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH EQUAL.

And Goku said himself there's not much difference in him and Vegeta's power. Biggest reason Vegeta admitted Goku was better was because of their gap in power from the Frieza to the Cell saga. By the Buu saga, that gap closed immensely.

That fight was really nothing but back and forth between Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta whooping Goku's ***, then Goku whooping Vegeta's ***, then back to Vegeta whooping Goku's *** and so on and so forth. That fight probably would've never ended if Buu didn't get released.

Doesnt change that he took all those Ls. Hopefully in DBS he can start adding a few Ws to his win ratio. Because I truly do like him but they made it so ******* hard to.

Hopefully he washes Frieza in Return of Frieza because if Goku is the one that avenges your fallen planet

I'm almost positive he is. After all he could go toe to toe with Super Buu. Though he wouldnt win a fight against Vegeta (I hope) because Gotenks battle strategy was terrible. He liked to show off too much. Goku said this himself when Buu absorbed Gotenks and mimicked Gotenks Kamikaze Ghost attack. Goku shrugged the attack off as child's play

EDIT: IIRC at one point Super Buu was hiding from Gotenks. He would never hide from Vegeta

When DBZ ended out of all characters Gotenks was the third strongest.

Imo they seemed to be perfectly matched in terms of power and fighting experience around the emergence of Buu.

Goku just had SS3 in his back pocket which although incredibly wasteful had he used it Vegeta would've been washed INSTANTLY.

So i'd say they were even barring Goku's ability to tap into a higher multiplier than Vegeta was currently able.

Had Goku been allowed enough time to put Vegeta down in SS3 and hand Buu the fade we wouldn't be having this convo.

Edit: Gotenks stronger than Goku or Vegeta ^^^? Nah. They have no clue how to actually fight and relied on power and parlor tricks

Their fusion would end trying to battle Goku or Vegeta and then they'd both get washed. They only get 5 minutes in SS3.
