Ironic all this Goku deadbeat dad talk is going on, I just got done rewatching the end of the Frieza saga after they were going through that period of piece right before King Cold and Cyber Frieza came. Chi chi hired that instructor to teach Gohan and dude was going IN about how Gohan's father is absent and that's why he's the way he is, just ethering Goku until finally Chi Chi hears it and throws Mr. Shu I think was his name out of the window. The truth hurts man.

Neither of Gohan's parents are the best. Chi-Chi is responsible for ruining Gohan's characters after the Cell Games, though at the same time she then had two children to take care of on her own. However, even from the start of the series, when Gohan was 4 years old, she was fairly overbearing, trying to force him to study and deciding what kind of life he'd live. Ironically she seems to have given Goten far more freedom than she ever did Gohan.
Knew this ***** was gonna be a problem when she showed up at the end of Dragon Ball. Trying to force a man to keep a "promise" he made at 12?
Son what? I would've told her to kick rocks so quickly and to never come near me again.

I don't really care about Gohans design change, I'm just waiting for them to explain the power drop. Lack of training doesn't doesn't explain how the strongest character alive at the end of The Buu saga was left to be irrelevant 5 years later. Where did all that power go? Being rusty is one thing but Gohan was MAGNITUDES stronger than super sayain 3 goku. Why is he in hanging in the back ground like Krillin and not the first line of defense? Bills sleeps damn near 10 years at a time and is still on his ****. Toriyama must have forgotten about how strong he made him

Bills sleeps waaaaaay longer than that but Wis is stronger anyway. and maybe a saiyans power drops dramatically if they don't fight anymore? seeing as how they get stronger after each fight

Possibly but the drop seems to be so drastic. Pretty sure mystic Gohan was stronger than Goku in battle of gods up until He turned super Saiyan god. I guess we can just blame Toriyama.

Didn't Goku think marriage was a form of food? I'm not trying to make DB or DBZ larger than it is, but people should be more careful who they decide to have children with and who they decide to have relationships with. Goku is a terrible father and person. Chi-Chi is an overbearing clown that tries to use education to make Gohan stick around to support the family like his dad never did.

Chi Chi was a better trainer than Goku. Goten turned super saiyan by the age of 7. Took Gohan 2x the age and he was getting trained by Piccolo and Goku.

it seems like once you reach ssj that those genes automatically get passed down to your child. excluding pan and bra but correct me if I'm wrong someone but supposedly females can go ssj right? I could of sworn I read that somewhere years ago. anyways...goku and vegeta were like in their late 20s / early 30s when they reached ssj. how can a 7 and 8 year old reach such a legendary status without many years of training or fights?

I think Goten said when he was training with his mom, he turned SSJ when she was training him, and she cried, guess cause it reminded her too much of Goku, and said he would not turn SSJ again. I could be wrong, I haven't seen the series a minute. just from what I remembered.
