Official DragonBall Z Thread. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You will be missed

He did, but it was because he was screwing around and let his buddies get absorbed. Then himself.
still strongest dude besides fusion/super ultimate boo

I was always under the impression that gohan always has this latent potential that can only come out when he's pushed to the brink. Cell games brought it out. Elder Kai brought it out. So it's like each time it gets brought out he reaches a new peak in power. I think because of that gohan will always be one of if not the strongest fighter. Hopefully there's a similar event in the new series. I even want gohan to be a villain of some sorts. Maybe get corrupted with power or something. We're long overdue for a goku/gohan fight....

The thought of a Gohan vs Goku beef... :smokin

If Gohan and Goku fought and Gohan actually was in the mindset of fighting.....assuming both are at equally power level/strength, Gohan wins to me. We seen what happened in the hyperbolic time chamber.

But then again, I'm biased towards Gohan

The fact that it's even a debate...

Goku would have washed Gohan in the Buu saga even when he was mystic.

The experience and battle mindset Goku has over Gohan is something he'll never be able to overcome.

Goku will be 80 (still looking 20 cause Saiyan) still handing Gohan consistent fades.

Apple fell far from the tree... And with the movie that just dropped, Gohan is a straight square bruh.

Absolutely not. I don't think you have the proper grasp of how strong mystic Gohan actually was. No amount of experience and training on gokus part could bridge a gap that HUGE in power. It's really not even close. And I'm talking about super sayain 3 goku too. Mystic Gohan was closer to Vegito in terms of power than he is to super sayain 3 goku. Hell, I'd be willing to say the power gap would be so great it would be similar to the fight between goku and bills on king Kai's planet at the beging of battle of the gods.

I'd say in terms of power on the scale of 1-10 goku would fall at a 5, kid buu would be a 8, gotenks would fall at 20, super buu (gotenks absorbed) would be a 25, mystic Gohan would be a 40 and vegito would be a 55.

The first Dragon Ball Z anime in nearly 20 years is on the way and today, we get our first look at the legendary Super-Saiyan, Goku. He looks as familliar as ever but with some slight tweaks following the events of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

The manga for Dragon Ball Super will begin on June 20th and today, we have our first look at our main protagonist, Goku. Drawn by manga artist Toyotarō, Goku is still rocking his familiar orange gi, with some slight changes. He's swapped Master Roshi's Turtle School emblem for the emblem of Whis/Birus, who are training Goku following the events of Battle of Gods. He' also rocking some very Future-Trunks-esque boots, so perhaps these are made by Capsule Corps. The anime will premiere a month later, in July. Original Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama is credited with creating the story for Dragon Ball Super. Not a lot is now about the new story, other than the fact that it is set a few years after the defeat of Maijin Buu, during a time when the earth is at peace. This new story effectively wipes Dragon Ball GT from continuity.

Lol at this Gohan vs Goku debate again.

Gohan would have washed Goku in the Buu Saga. Get over it.

Now? After these two movies? Gohan clearly showed once again that he was never about that warrior life and didn't train. Obviously Goku and Vegeta are stronger at this point.

But if Gohan were to get serious on some Freeza tip and hit the weight room? If he were to become a God Super Saiyan? It'd be a wrap.

But he doesn't do that. The whole point of Gohan's character is that he has some Earthling in him and not bout that savage Saiyan life. He's soft :smh:

Thank you, people talking like Gohan still has a chance. Dude is nowhere near the top tier of strength at this point. That honor goes to Whis, Bills, Goku, Vegeta, and Freiza. Gohan's not washing anything except some dishes. End of the Buu Saga he was the strongest, now he's not, and we've still got like 6-8 years before the distant timeskip where Goku meets Uub. This new series is gonna have Gohan sitting in an office while his dad continues to widen the gap between them.

Are we really gonna doubt the seed of goku? This ***** damn near killed frieza by himself as a kid. Went from team player to youngest super saiyan in the android saga. Reached a pinnacle of power no one has seen, then does the same thing in the Buu saga after 7 years of barely training. Gohan doesn't even train anymore and is still front line. So if he decides to train like goku and vegeta, combined with his temper who's really stopping him?

The thumb point alone makes him one of the cleanest characters in anime history. Gohan was forced into this life. He blacks out on your *** than goes and balances check books. That real fear.

Nah, gohan is '96-'97 regular season bulls. People forget how good he and that season were compared to goku/'95-'96 bulls

Gohan attaining the Msytic tranformation was silly. Some of the laziest writing in the series. Gonna have him not train for 7 years, but then just be given a powerup to make him relevant again, after he's been ripped a new one. :smh: Him reaching that state means nothing for him personally, because there was no effort put into it. It's something he was given, not something he earned. And nothing changes the fact that he's not relevant anymore, as seen by that above image.

He's the third strongest of the Z Fighters, but that really doesn't mean anything at all when he can't even hold off their new enemies.
