Official DragonBall Z Thread. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You will be missed

I'm hearing there's a time skip. I'm pretty sure this will be tied up with the BOG since Beerus was the one who told Goku there's other universes

Thousand of possibilities can happen now

By the end of this new series Goku will be SSGSSJ10 Mystic

Yeah, Beerus appears in the first chapter, which seems to be taking place right at the start of Battle of Gods. Seeing how DB and DBZ covered so many years i'm sure this'll do the same, during which we'll pass both films.

By the end of this series I fear we'll all be sick of Dragon Ball in general  But hey, as long as it's better than GT I won't complain too much.

Bills' character appears and it starts out before the movie and doesnt happen at all like the movie or the prequel manga that released for the movie. so i dont know.

this anime is 100% gonna a long run like one piece. if they dont find a way to incorporate future trunks im gonna be pissed

Well after reading that, I too believe there will  be a time skip. Hopefully Gohan catches up to Goku and Vegeta, this cant become the Goku and Vegeta show.

Since it didn't outright contradict anything, with Beerus just visiting some planet and then mentioning SSG, I assumed it was just a scene that didn't take place in the film; different point of view kind of thing. Because at the same time, it explains why Goku isn't on Earth at the film's start, with him leaving to train with King Kai.

possibly, just seems weird that whis didnt know about goku either or atleast didnt say anything about him. which is weird because it seemed like he knew in real time when goku had defeated frieza and majin buu

Yeah, there's room for a retcon to happen, but I don't think its 100% happened yet, but i'm sure we'll see in the next chapter or two whats what.

So is there a version of goku and all the other characters in universe 6? Maybe all the saiyans didn't die in this one

Toriyama :smh:

So I would assume dragon ball super is the same universe as the dragon ball movies. The original DBZ story is a regular universe and the future where GT happens is its own universe....

:smh:

i still dont think the movies count. and technically speaking nothing hasnt happened in dbz yet to contradict GT as far as i know so it could still be part of the main universe. if were trying to force fit everything

Possibly, but I doubt it, seeing as it was stated that a ton of new characters would be introduced through that universe. Just showing us the same exact characters again would be a waste.

lol why would you possibly assume that?

Resurrection of F contradicts Fusion Reborn at the least anyways, and so couldn't be taking place there. In fact, seeing as all the events of Z definitely took place within BoG and Resurrection, some of the earlier films couldn't possibly happen either in relation to the last two.

I'll honestly be surprised if GT is mentioned at all and seperate universes doesn't necessarily mean alternate

A month ago I was getting destroyed for considering GT canon and saying that Toriyama gave the sign off so it's canon. No one was trying to here that. Toriyama drinks Henny for breakfast and has a press conference basically saying "I don't know what I'm talking about anymore" and now we're considering GT in the main universe....cool

I liked dragonball gt
Well at least the last storyline where he had to defeat all the dragons from the dragonballs

Man idc what universe it takes place in
As long as it cuts down on filler episodes
And those damn 3 episodes of powering up

i never said GT was canon. its still not. GT was only BASED on the official main universe it was never incorported into it. but for the sake of your argument and going along with your train of logic for it to be considered a "seperate universe" or "alternate time line" the main story line would have to progress enough that the time lines intersect. We havent reached the point of the beginning of GT yet or even the end of DBZ. so that even IF it was considered canon it would still fall inline with the main lines time line.

and the movies are just that, the movies. still not linked to any timeline or canon until officially incorporated.

The movies could of taken place in any dimension. Potentially everything is cannon. Not unconfirmed

i mean yes, anything could happen. but i doubt they will incorporate all of that into cannon. the most they may do with the movies is pull some of the strongest characters like Broly or Janemba while still more than likely negating/changing the back stories the movies gave them lol

The fact there are people that actually want GT to be canon hurts my soul man. :smh: Regardless, Toriyama confirmed that Battle of Gods and Resurrection (And by extentsion Yo Son Goku and his Friends Return) are all canon in terms of Super, which contradict GT. So i'm glad that's out of the way.

Now if we can just see these other universes and not mention GT at all we can forget about the series entirely.

The Tuffles getting revenge on the Saiyans, Hell 17, SS4's appearance, the Black Star Dragons, I liked all of the basic ideas for GT, just not the execution.

ill say it again, with GT not being canon they really should of used ssj4 form as the God form in the movies and new series

Vegeta looked so damn dope as ss4
Same with goku
Those feels when vegeta finally reached it :pimp:

Just watched the first episode. No subs but I wanted to get a feel for the animation and tone of the show.

I like it a lot. The colors pop, the drawings look crisp and it seems like it's funny. First episode shows bills destroying a planet and goten telling goku some story it seems like of him and trunks getting a gift for videl, it seems like it's water from the fountain of youth or something. One thing that stood out was that trunks was noticably taller and drawn to look a little older then goten. There are numerous scenes where they are side by side and it seems as though they're trying to get the viewers to notice so I'm guessing time progression will be a big thing this series.

Awesome! I'm hyped!
