Official DragonBall Z Thread. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You will be missed

different cuts for different folks I guess. i'm the superior dragon ball z scholar though so thank you for trying.

have a good day everyone.

Vegeta will now take another L.

Everyone vageta beat weren't even a threat

That's not even debatable. Dude out there ballin for the D league

Vegeta killed Cui on his own, Dodoria on his own, Zarbon on his own, Jeice on his own, 19 on his own, some Nameks, and an untold amount of people before he appeared in the story proper, when he was still working for Frieza. That leaves Recoome and Burter whom Goku knocked out beforehand. So what exactly is the issue? lol at almost all the kills. People just be spouting random figures to try to make Vegeta look bad at every turn. :smh:

Nappa too.

Zarbon, Dodoria, and Android 19 were totally threats at the time and if not for Vegeta everyone would have died.

My og comments weren't to discredit him, but rather Gokus naiveté.

That Future Trunks body count though.... Imagine in his time line he could feasibly have a Majin Buu kill in there. Future Trunks defeating every major villain with zero help. No Father Son Kamehameha, no Spirit Bombs, just giving people the Sword and the Hands.

Future Trunks might just be the GOAT.

Said it already but now since they're going with this alternate universe thing they need to go to Future Trunks' time and give him a Buu saga

trunks got so good with the training he received in the main timeline but do you think he would have stood a chance against majin buu in his universe? especially with no one to train him? vegeta had been training himself for so long and couldnt catch up to goku (not including majin vageta although it is speculated that goku could have gone ssj3 at that point too) but the second he took on a master (whis) he caught up to goku in a flash. but thats all assuming majin buu would have the same strength in his timeline as he did in the main one. needless to say it would be awesome

Trunks is Half Saiyan though, and for whatever nonsense reason they get stronger faster than full blooded Saiyans. I honestly think he would have kept training with Vegeta ferocity because he knew that he was the only person who could protect the earth in the event that something happened and would have achieved Ssj2 (he saw it and knew what he did wrong so could easily get it right) and eventually three in a moment of desperation against fat Buu.

No way the story could work if Super Buu or Kid Buu came about though, Trunks would die.

not trying to nit pick but ive also operated the assumption that being half sayain gives you an advantage but is that actually stated anywhere officially? because to me it seems that whether or not the person is full or half, given the opportunity to to train or get angered everyone has the ability to get stronger regardless of how much saiyan is in their blood. and as for trunks i really dont know there is only so far anyone in dragon ball z has gotten with out training under someone or fusion.

No, though it's funny, because I was talking with someone on YouTube about that very thing yesterday.

I honestly doubt that Trunks would fare any better against Majin Buu then Vegeta did.

Nah man its not even nitpicking, I'I can't even remember if it was officially stated anywhere myself either but somehow we've all just come to assume that. I don't think it's just totally made up though. @KingdomFlatbush come clarify this.

That's also a fair point, Goku only achieved ssj3 when he was dead and could train for longer, who knows how far into that seven years he was dead did it take to even reach that level.

Unless we're going to cheat and say that because it's a cartoon and re hero has to win somehow(basically my logic) then there's no concrete reason as to why Trunks could even reach Ssj3 or beat Buu..

I was thinking about this the other day.
Goku has always received special training from diff people since DB, and vegeta has always trained by himself

Training when dead leads to better results. If trunks had stepped into some version of the hyperbix chamber when cell killed him and was dead for those however many minutes/hours/days then he probably could've gotten a nice power boost. But dude was only dead for a sit second. Wonder if we'll get some filler to show the hijynx he got into with kami sama!

Remember guys I am THE leading authority on dragon ball speculation and pseudo facts so ease defer to me in everything db related. It's ok.

I think it's just that Gohan having the potential to be stronger than even pure blooded saiyans was hammered repeatedly. Until Toriyama just disregards it to let Goku shine

So I don't know if it just applies to Gohan or all half blood saiyans

I wanna say they mentioned it before the cell games .

I dont think that its been disregarded totally. Keep in mind that gohan became the strongest character at literally like the last possible moment of dbz. if he gets his crap together he may have a chance to grab the spotlight again

By disregard I mean Gohan did what none of the others could. He beat cell at full power. Then we go into the buu saga and the BS SSJ3 was introduced and once again out Goku back on top. Then Gohan gets a boost only to be trolled and beaten by a lesser buu

And going by the last 2 movies, I don't think Gohan will ever be top again

well now we dont even know where the 2 movies factor in to the story line with the multiple universe talk. and the new trailer for super does show mystic gohan powering up so there is hope

Oh. I thought that the movies were going to be in dbz super so I thought they were canon

I lost all hope for Gohan tbh. Still my favorite character but at this point, he's now fallen off to Piccolo irrelevance

The way they keep writing stuff it forces Vegeta and Goku to be the only two good characters. I miss when EVERYONE was pretty good. Give the Humans and Piccolo some time to shine etc etc.

It's my understanding that the series still starts in the same universe it's always been in, but down the line the characters will travel to another one.

Also I believe that both Battle of the Gods and Resurrection of F are being taken into account for this series, and will simply be adapted into their own arcs for it, with some minor changes here and there.

Maybe they did and I just don't remember, but I don't think so. To my knowledge, no one's ever really commented on half-saiyans at all, with Gohan of course being the most infamous due to his incredible potential. Personally, I think Gohan's the way he is due to a combination of factors. The half-saiyan thing certainly playing some kind of role, but also the fact that both his father and grandfather were known for their beyond-average ability to take damage, heal, and grow stronger from it, even for Saiyans. And then I also think that Gohan was just the right combination of genes and chance as well, something of a mutant even among the Saiyans.
