Wrestling Thread Dec 17-30 | 12/24 Raw - Cena v Del Rio, Bryan v Sandow | Merry Christmas!

WWE's Survivor Series PPV drew an estimate of 212,000 buys, according to WWE's updated monthly business figures released Friday.

The PPV featured a sudden line-up change to C.M. Punk vs. John Cena vs. Ryback for the WWE Title, replacing a traditional Survivor Series match in the main event. This was Ryback's second WWE Title match on PPV, following the TLC PPV, which WWE said last month drew an estimate of 200,000 buys.

The final numbers for both PPVs - and the December TLC PPV - will be released in early 2013 when WWE announces fourth quarter earnings results.

Barring a sudden increase in the final 2012 Survivor Series total, this year's event will fall well short of last year, which drew 281,000 buys for The Rock's in-ring return teaming with John Cena. Also, the 2010 edition drew 244,000 buys.

That believe khali is a former world heavyweight champion..

- While there has been talk of having Sheamus win the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row and face a heel Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 29, a new name is being discussed as a potential Rumble winner – Ryback.

Vince McMahon has brought up the idea of pushing Ryback even harder as the new babyface of SmackDown. This would include a lengthy run with the World Heavyweight Title. Nothing is confirmed yet but the talk included Ryback dominating the Rumble match, beginning a feud with Orton and then facing him at WrestleMania.

Regarding the Rumble, most key points for the 30-man match this year have been laid out by Triple H, Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson and other officials. There was a meeting about a week ago where many twists, including Ryback dominating, were discussed.

Man, **** this dude Ryback.

I'm only 22, and I thought Goldberg was the **** when I was growing up. Is this how all you older gentlemen felt about Goldberg?
Goldberg and Ryback are two completely different beasts.

Goldberg had a legit wave of momentum like no one we have seen in a long, long time.  Yes, he was beating jobbers to start his streak, but he soon was beating legit big names.  And he was beating them clean.  Plus, wrestling was a 1000x hotter during Goldberg's rise than now with Ryback.

Ryback is a guy that fans know has very little talent.  They get into his entrance and catch phrase, but they are mostly silent during his matches (even before he lost at HiaC and Survivor Series).  Plus, Ryback has beaten no one of significance.  He's now been in three big PPV matches, and he doesn't have a single win to show for it.

Fans were legit into Ryback going into HiaC, but after that screw job finish, they realized Ryback is just another guy in WWE.  Maybe he'll go on to be something, but I give much better odds he's just another Bobby Lashley or Mason Ryan or Heidenreich or Ezekiel Jackson or any other chemically enhanced musclehead.

The HiaC PPV had a very strong buy rate.  Fans wanted to see Ryback's first big match.  But like I said, after they realized he was just another guy, it was proven when Survivor Series' buy rate was extremely poor.

I tell you what...I like the hell out of this Brad Maddox guy.
Why does he keep getting shots to earn a WWE contract?  Has this ever been explained?

And first he loses to Brodus Clay.  Now he loses to Great Khali.  I hate WWE booking.

Domestic #'s were WAY down.  Survivor Series only did like 120k in the US which is by far the worst Survivor Series domestic buy rate ever.

I don't know but it sure is weird that they keep letting him have these matches without a contract.

Seems like WWE could be held liable if he were to get injured letting an un-contracted employee work in their ring.

That's what I like to see from the mid/lower midcarders :pimp:

And Cameron and Naomi

Thanks, I'm starving
