The Colombia slander is so real in here :lol:. It comes from people who obviously don't know the difference. Although each XI, looks the same, none of the material is exactly alike. I'm kind of afraid of the leather that they would use for a newer version of the Colombias though. It's smooth leather, almost stiff like the new version of the concords, but the leather on the colombias is of much better quality. The leather on that anniversary crap is not what was on the colombias. I used to think the colombias weren't all that until I got a pair (at $159) no less from ISS before it got crappy. People have always slept on this shoe. It was on sale for an entire calendar year on ISS for $99. I could have copped 2 pairs but kept waiting. Glad I got a pair tho.

Just no, no, no, no. :lol:. I never understood the want for the snakeskin lows though. It's about personal preference. Snakeskin lows was the first time I saw a massive line for jordans. That's when we first started seeing what we now see in terms of kicks (along with the first release of cool grey XI). I don't know how I would feel about a red patent leather mid though, Not liking the idea.
 
But nobody was talking about the leather they were talking about the white patent yellowing, the sole yellowing, and the eyelets yellowing. All at different rates.
 
proper storage and cleaning will delay the yellowing quite a bit but yeah it is going to happen regardless

What I was explaining was a response to multiple comments I read. People were saying they were too plain. All I was trying to say was to not lump each shoe into the same category in terms of materials is all. As far as yellowing, do you know how long it takes for it to get like that? I got my pair in '02 and I'm just starting to see yellowing in the past year I want to say and they still look good. I'll post a pic of them later and show you. They won't look khaki after five years man, it takes a while.

I was told the Columbia's were going to release this year by someone that I would trust so I wonder what happened? (Maybe this dude just misunderstood?) Anyway, if the come out next year they BETTER have the deep carolina blue sole like the originals- not that blue-ish/clear crap that came out in 2001.
 
Is it possible 2 colorways of AJ 11 come out in 1 year? Not being sarcastic, really asking........

Exactly. My 2000 Columbias do not look like that at all. The patent leather is yellowing, but it's not that bad, and the rest of the shoe looks good.

Y'all comparing the life of a 2001 release to what JB would release now is COMICAL to say the least. Even if your 2000-2001 pair was in perfect condition that means NOTHING in regards to what a 2013 releases would look like a year or two from their release considering JB's quality. :smh:
 
I'm all for Columbias next year as well. I'm 5/5 for Christmas XI's since the CDP. So I was kinda hoping the Columbias released rather than the black/reds this year. Please JB just let me complete the set.

I'm not saying the quality would be the same. But I hadn't heard anything that would suggest the actual patent leather yellowing at a different rate now than the patent leather used for previous releases. Does anyone have a pair of DS Anniversaries that could confirm how the patent leather is holding up on those 2 years after their release?
 
Skip Columbia. Just drop the low top version of SJ, Concord, and Bred for the next 3 years.
