I'm not saying the quality would be the same. But I hadn't heard anything that would suggest the actual patent leather yellowing at a different rate now than the patent leather used for previous releases. Does anyone have a pair of DS Anniversaries that could confirm how the patent leather is holding up on those 2 years after their release?

My anni 11s surprisingly havent yellowed at all. Granted I put a few packets of silica but i brought em out recently and they still look brand new. Wore em twice total I think.

I do have an instagram pic but the filter kinda throws it off.

Maximilian just posted this in the XI thread as part of his collection. Columbias don't look yellowed at all.

For what its worth, if it were the Columbias the yellowing might not be as bad as you think. I have my anniversary pair DS, and the mesh or patent hasn't yellowed at all. Take the paper out of the box and keep it in a dark closet and you should be fine. No need to panic.

But isnt the yellowing due to oxidation? You cant keep Oxygen out of the shoe without vacuum sealing which is way worse.

I wan't suggesting the the release of either of the two. I was just saying that 11s and galaxy/south beach colorways are the ultimate hype magnets, and to combine the two would cause cities to burn to the ground.

Since I missed out on releases of the Space Jams, Cool Greys, Concords, and my favorite colorway the Breds, I figure that I should go ahead and think about pursuing the Columbias (that's if they do come next year). I should at lease get one pair of 11's since I missed out on four already. You know, somehow I might be willing to get a pair of Bred 11's off ebay. We'll who knows maybe I will and maybe I won't. And after that I think they should make a new colorway in which we all would like.
