Finishline Credit Card errors and Holiday Retro releases

With the backdoor, there wasn't any traffic issues. I've also used the mobile trick to bypass the traffic and SPA issues. So in some cases when you're seeing SPA or it's acting really slow, yes, it's a case of traffic. But I think my issues have to do with their wonky payment system and the matter of my being flagged.

And I'm definitely flagged. Like I said in my last post, I couldn't buy the BHM AJ1. Minutes after, my brother did.

One of the admins had the same issue and posted about it in the Bred 11 thread.

Multiple people was having payment errors also while using the backdoor link... I think it really comes down to amount of traffic and the size you are getting. Cause if my account is flagged. I wouldn't be able to checkout the Bentley Ellis restock on the first try using the normal link when I got 8-10 payment errors just 24hrs ago. At this point, it could be a combination of things but I don't believe the excuse of your account being flagged anymore. I just think that FNL check out system sucks period!

Just wanted to spread some insight after dealing with this issue myself. Finishline will automatically flag your account and credit card if you attempting to make more then 1 purchase in a day and also when attempting to use a different shipping address then the billing. I scored myself a pair of 88s but when i attempted to buy one for my brother and send it to his house I was flagged. Tried copping 4 pairs during the big multi restock and the same thing happened. Not knowing about this horrible fraud system I kept trying not knowing they were preauthorizing the card everytime u click submit. Next thing I know FNL has over 1k authorized on my card. Took almost 2 hours just to have them drop all the authorizations on my card  and for them to basically tell me only one of my orders shipped and if I wanted to make a new purchase in the next 30 days to change my card or wait till im cleared. I work for a online company myself and compared to our system this is horrible. I deal with flagging for fraud on the daily but they should have just sent a email to confirm different ship 2 address or gave us courtesy calls. Now I have to get a new prepaid card to make a purchase for the royals. Def not a happy customer.

When I was speaking to a rep about their checkout system. The rep told me about how they updated everything including a new site a few months back, but had to revert back to the old site because of multiple issues. They said that they are aware of the checkout system issues and working right now on upgrading the checkout system. They tried a few months back but still found a lot of glitch and still currently working to a better checkout system.

The post right above mine is stating the same thing. If BigJ comes in here, he'll say the same thing. I'm telling you that their site doesn't allow me to buy high-profile releases anymore.

And if they are working on a new checkout system, hopefully, it will resolve some of the issues. But as of right now, they're preventing some from buying these high-profile releases. For me, the WC 3 88s were like a holy grail, and I missed out on it. And I'm not paying $350-$500 reseller prices.

Another release.  Another rejection of all my credit cards AND PayPal.  So frustrating.

I didn't really even try FNL for the 88 WC3's. I was on the SPA for over 3 hours that day without site access. That was an NDC cop;

I have had all the issues mentioned previously in the thread. Posted about them in the restock thread, but I was prevented from buying anything during the big re stock, and almost missed out on the Breds.

Paypal, both CCs, rejected. Different errors each time, wouldnt even let me submit last week for the restock, kept saying "please enter a valid security code". This time it would let me click submit but would say "there was a problem submitting your order".

Called customer service, ordered there, done. FNL's website is never going to get better. Some people will get pairs, some will not. I was told by FNL I am not flagged or anything, their site just has high traffic.

Has nothing to do with the "back door link" that is just the unresolved address to FNL website. It's had everything to do with this and what other said about making multiple purchases:
Your finishline account. Here is the text directly from FNL's blog:

I buy from Finishline.com all the time, but can never buy the Jordan releases due to checkout errors. Why?

Finishline.com has a fraud protection system that checks to make sure any flagged accounts are not fraudulant purchases. This method can take a few days to complete. Since the Jordans will sell out within a day the system automatically rejects any accounts flagged as potential fraud. We recommend contacting your financial institution to confirm your account information in order to resolve the issue. In the meantime try the eGift card method in our tips above.

And there had to be pages of people complaining today about the issue, yet this thread is only two pages long. 4Chan and Neogaf seem to be more an active community to getting things done.

I agree with it having to do with traffic and the size your trying to get... I tried buying the WC4, Bred13, and PO12 during the huge restock last thursday and was getting payment errors about 8-10 times. All for size 9.5... The next day they had The Bentley Ellis 9 restock, I was able to checkout a size 9.5 on the first sumbit with no error. So If I was able to grab that, I knew that your account being flagged excuse is all BS. Or else I would have got a payment error on that also just like any other releases the past couple months.
Same experience as you.. I was able to cop the Bentley Ellis, Olympic VII, etc this week but I couldn't cop the BRED XI today or even the '88 Cement III the other day from FNL

It def depends on the release, it seems the people that got flagged can't get the major Jordan releases but can get other restocks/shoes..

I was able to place 1 order with my card but then a second order for a different shoe errored out. I had to use a different card but that went through. I then tried to place additional orders using 4 different cards and paypal using two different accounts, on two different computers in two different physical locations even with no luck.

Could benefit some of you that keep failing during order processing:

The easiest and not so convenient option to have successful orders using FinishLine is to simply purchase pre-paid Visa / American Express etc cards from your local store and use them online. There is no billing address attached to them so you can order at will. Just make sure you have do this before hand and map out what you intend on ordering. That way your card has enough money on there to cover the product + tax + shipping charges your order will have.

I  just got off the phone w FNL, here's what I found out:

1) I have been "flagged" on February 6th.
2) The flag had a comment about my "email" I used. (I use 3 diff emails for ordering).
3) She said it could have been because I tried "multiple attempts" to purchase on 2/6/2012.
4) She said AFTER 2 attempts, you get flagged (not sure if this is true).
5) "flagging" lasts anywhere from 2-30 days (2 weeks is the halfway point).
6) She suggested I don't even use PayPal on ANY major release.
7) She said the gift cards can ONLY be bought in $25/$50/$100.. so I would have to use multiple gift cards when I checkout.

With this being said I'm going to do the following:

1) Always use the SAME EXACT email, address, phone number when I order from FNL.
2) Only make 2 attempts to purchase an item (exceptions will be made)
3) Try a pre-paid VISA / or a Gift Card

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those that feel bad, I put a lot of time into this release. I had all my macros setup with the backdoor links and had multiple CC's but still failed. I don't give up.. never. Just find better solutions

I'm not sure the pre-paid Visa would work......wouldn't their system just see it as another CC???

IMO the Gift Card solutions seems like the only way around this until the probation period is over....if you go to the store can you have them load a certain $ amount on a card??

Multiple GC's will take too much time......you only have so much precious time the way it is.....and now you're talking keying in multiple long GC#'s and the different pins.....

I asked the rep about the pre-paid VISA and she didn't know if it would work either (because there's no billing address attached). She definately was saying the Gift Cards will work but you have to enter a couple at a time (since the largest amount sold is $100)

I honestly am going to give the pre-paid card idea a shot, what do I have to lose? If it doesn't work I'll use that card for any other purchase.

Yeah, I see what you're saying....I'm going to visit the store tonight and see if they have GC that you can load a custom amount on and if they can't, I'll try the prepaid VISA or whatever.....just gonna be salty if I miss out again bcause of their damn policies.....haven't had any problems copping from FNL until the card authorization error fiasco....

Its just profiling for big releases,.....and i wonder why

Fnl is a joke for this and continuously screwing a portion of the pop

Ya i actually had Bred IVs in my cart in my size and then I got the error. Big time buzzkill for me. The only Jordans Ive wanted in the last like 5 years. I dont even buy sneakers like that anymore, but I really wanted those IVs and got super excited when I was at home during the restock.

Pre-Paid works, I based that article off experience and what FinishLine has told me lately.

Well, I should say it DID work as in within the past 60days. I'll double check that it still works tonight though.

I would like to know if this would work as well!

Purchasing the gift card or e-cash or whatever is POINTLESS if you can NOT GET INTO THE WEBSITE!!!!

I don't trust the whole "flagging" thing. Whether your payment is getting through or not. Period!!!!

Btw, thank you for exposing the backdoor link....now we're back to square one. Y'all should be enjoying the SPA screen by now
