NT DJs / Producers / Musicians

Hopefully you guys can appreciate this mix. Some OG samples to my favorite Hip-Hop tracks. Any feedback will be appreciated ...:D

What up guys... just looking for some feedback on this new track my artist and I dropped yesterday.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for a little feedback on a song I produced for one of my artist. A few local internet radio stations are starting to pick it up. Just wondering what people outside of Texas thought about it.

I like this, if you guys do some tweaks to the sound quality of the track It will sound even more dope.

Keep up the good work fam

Preciate it! Yea, I'm still trying to learn the ins/outs of mixing and recording to get the best quality.

This is an artist I'm working with by the name of Efrain. Super talented and we're out here just making great music for your ears. All I ask is for you guys to listen to the songs posted on the Who's Next website and rate it to the point we get some recognition for the hard work we put in. Appreciate it !

Hey NT fam here's the first mix I have ever made. Please excuse some of the rough transitions/excessive slowdowns from one song to another this was just me using the Mixx software for the first time and messing around with it while I was a little :smokin. Any sort of feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also any advice on how to smoothly flow from one song to another would be awesome :D

what program are you using ?

gotcha homie

so i've never used that program . i use Traktor Pro 2 , which i LOVE

first off i want to say that you're off to a good start ! your selection is on point , which honestly is the most important tool for anyone DJing or mixing . you can have the illest transitions in the world , but if you aren't playing stuff that's making anyone move they're useless .

a couple of tips for making your transitions smoother :

1. classify tracks by BPM (beats per minute) range . all the tracks in any particular mix i play all are set to the exact BPM throughout . what does that mean ? before mixing and recording i pick tracks that are usually within 10 BPMs of each other . some will be slightly slower than their normal speed and some faster . as a general rule , songs sound better sped up slightly than they do slowed down slightly , so try to pick a BPM that has the majority of the tracks either playing at their regular BPM or a slightly sped up BPM
2. starting off , try transition during the chorus of the lead track . that means bringing in track 2 at the moment that track 1 gets to a chorus . usually song intros last about the same amount of bars as a chorus . what you are aiming to do is line up the songs so that when you transition to track 2 , the chorus or 1st verse hit at the same time that a verse would hit from track 1 . two good examples of this are at 12:36 and 14:56 in my "Chookie's Music Cast Ep 4: Dance Party" up above
3. have the volume of the transitioning track slightly louder than track 1 when you begin playing it . this isn't necessarily a rule of thumb , sometimes depending on volumes and where the song is at they should be at the exact same volume or the transition track slightly quieter . i would say about 75% of the time though you want them to be close but the transition track slightly louder

there are some others but it's tough to type them out and not show in person . hope this helps
