Official Air Jordan 3 "White Cement" '88 Retro - Retail $200

I have worn these 4 times. I repeat 4 times. Take a look at the cracking at the midsole. If I put my fingers near the line and pull, it really comes apart (I don't recommend doing this).

JB should be damn ashamed. Came back to the shoe game for this crap. My 2003s that I have beat to death never did this. Even my 2011 true blues after 30+ wears look extra crispy. I am not one to complain, but Wtf JB

Well its official these 3s are garbage like all other 3s and 4s they crack and the paint will fall off eventually smh

That's a shame about the cracking. I'm convinced JB does this so we all have to reload. Or they could be cracking from the xtra weight of that Nike Air lol

its either have a nice comfy shoe, or not have cracking. id rather have a comfy shoe myself.. you cant have the best of all worlds, a retro shoe with cracking, changing the materials up, people crying over it not being retro style, people crying because the shoe feels like ****.

fact is its a shoe, its made for walking, its taking your body weight expect it to damage a bit.

3 things you can do, box them up and just sit and look at them all day, get yourself some custom clog jordans or take it as it is.

I never had threes that cracked. Then again I only weigh like 170 lbs. they are my most comfortable Jordan though

Mine have a crease in the same spot, I've worn mine almost 20 times, and its only a crease still, not a crack.. I'm no light weight either, I'm 6'2" 265lbs. I didn't switch insoles or anything either.

There are alot of overweight sneakerheads. None of my shoes crack but I'm not overweight either. I have a friend that's obese yet he wonders why all his shoes crack etc. I've worn my 88's about 10 times and the have zero signs of wear.

Yeah man. I didn't wanna say it but my old black ones barely creased at all let alone any cracking.

I'm 6"0 and 175 yet my 3's and 4's always crack at the mid, I don't run, jump or anything else like that with them. Maybe due to weather since its always freezing over here, giving it less heat/stretch.....but thats just a guess.  If you want the shoes to look perfect you shouldn't have  them on your feet.

Im all for my shoes showing some signs of wear...i think it gives them "character" (lol) but paint cracking/chipping just leaves a bad taste in my mouth smh

But please, PLEASE dont go blaming it on weight, cuz we all know thats not it...

Relax man just a theory. Lol I'm def not one to try and make people feel bad or judge them.
I haven't worn my in the winter so the cold weather theory could have some validity.

I think paint chipping/cracking is part what you do when you're wearing your kicks, part quality. I ball indoor with 2011 III's and I expect the midsole paint to crack. It doesn't bother me. What DID bother me was a pair of retro AM 90s that after TWO normal wears, the paint around the air unit began to chip and flake off. I plan to ball in my 88 IIIs and if the paint cracks, so be it.

Peace

So nobody in the nba or at least 90% of them can't wear 3s because they are too big and haevy and they will crack and fall apart on them and these are basketball shoes think about that. If its not the weight it doesn't even matter these shoes are just pieces of chit .

how are they fake. i mean enlighten us. this is a kiddie size or grade school. all i notice was the elephant print and the nike air sign look wierd
How can you not tell that they are fake?

Let me preface this follow-up post by saying this: I know exactly where my money is going when I throw down $200 for a pair of tennis shoes that, yes, like all tennis shoes, will break down after heaving wearing. But this happened after my 4th wear. Pretty disgusted with the QC on these shoes. Everyone that is applauding JB for its quality, buttery leather, etc. have not worn their pairs yet, or have not worn them enough. Kinda feeling like Macklemore right now in Wing$. Getting duped by my insatiable desire of consumerism, although it probably won't prevent me from buying future pairs of colorways I like. Irony, right?

The point of my post and pic is this:

1. You can't tell in the picture, but the creasing runs through to the black paint for about an inch. By my 10th wear, the creasing will form substantial cracks. If I pull at the line with my fingers, it is a legitimate crack there (once again, don't do this). Reminiscent of my 2006 Fire Red's, which were probably the worst out of all the IIIs in terms of cracking

2. No JB retro, especially the earlier lines, is worth $200. For a shoe that retroe'd at $100 ten years ago, you factor in inflation and CPI changes, the shoe should at most, be retailing around $125. The only other justification is that JB has to do profit sharing/split royalties with Nike due to the NA branding but an entire $100 markup is disgusting for the quality that resulted.

3. If you guys are really thirsty, then go ahead and pay upwards of $350+ for a pair on the resale market. Let this be a warning of the cracking that will occur if you do decide to rock them.

I stopped reading after you called them tennis shoes.

What are you, 10? The use of the term "tennis shoes" was to make a generalization in my argument that these are nothing but tennis shoes made to be worn. But then again, you probably stopped reading after the first sentence in this post too, right? :smh:
