Anybody dress young for their age? Vol. Im a grown a** kid

i feel like suits are archaic. most professional places dont really even require them like that. all the places i worked at were either casual or business casual, which, at most meant a sport/dress shirt, slacks/chinos, and loafers/oxfords. no neck wear or jackets. the most formal place was the House of Reps and only had to wear a jacket and tie when they were in session AND votes were happening, which was not even everyday.

not saying you don't need one, maybe two suits, but most people don't even wear them much. professionalism doesn't have a look, its the quality of work you do. i see more people wearing things like blazers, ties, hell even suits, to spots like bars and clubs and its funny to me but its their world and im just living in it.

Well in all reality you are still a kid @ 23 I was still in the whole SnapBack, graphic tees and SBs phase....however I feel like i did grew out of that, I still wear sneakers but I no longer wear graphic tees, rarely do I wear snapbacks, although once in a while I still do, my clothes have a different fit than they once did, brands like Gap/Jcrew/Zara replaced Diamond/C&C's/etc
More importantly I learned to chose the ocassions, remember there is a time and place, you look just as silly wearing a suit to go for a stroll around te park as you do wearing a graphic tee and a SnapBack to a nice dinner/event....when you can find a balance I believe that's when you've learned to dress your age, if you are passed 25 and the only thing you wear are the things you see kids in HS going crazy over, is time to grow up.

Steely hit it on the head...

I'm 24 and I work a full time job that requires me to be dress casual so I wear alot of button ups and Khakis. Most weekends I'm in more chill wear and/ or jeans. I even wear tees but if I'm going out I usually try to do a mix of both sides (my professional and my personal). I usually throw on some khakis or dress pants and a cool sweater or shirt. Every now n then I step out in sneaks but honestly it's no where near as often (makes me wonder how I keep falling into the "I need this shoe trip")

not a fan of obey but its funny to me how these narcissistic MFers try to tell you how to dress. wear what you like my dude...they just mad they cant pull sht off.

I came to the conclusion that I'm prolly going to dress the way I do until I'm 70.. Lol
I love jeans , sneakers , cargo's , shorts , sweats , tee's , fitted's and hoodies way to much not to wear it because of my age..**** that !!
Never been comfortable dressing up... And I'm 36 btw

ANF actually makes quality stuff but those damnnnnn logos and branding.

Its a damn shame, some of their clothes, especially jackets are actually worth the price, but I cant get down with their branding.

it's weird, I went to a Val Surf (haven't been in forever) & saw HUF and undftd there :frown: I never knew the brand went viral like that.

Undftd, stussy, the hundreds, diamond, all of those brands and others went main stream... :smh:

they can now be found as pac sun, zumiez, UO, and other places in the mall..

Graphic tees, fitted/snapbacks, bball shorts with matching colored sneaker outfits belong in high school imo. The sooner you retire them the better.

Not necessarily.

Matching IMO belongs in high school, and I mena excessive matching.

Whats wrong with graphic tees, snapbacks and bball shorts? Unless you mean exclusively paired to match. Other wise, you cant dress nice all the time.

I'm in the same boat. Thinking about giving up the Jordans and hoodies and start wearing more shoes and casual wear.

After reading through this thread, I sincerely wonder if the people swearing by their loose fit cargo/bball shorts/sweats, hoodies, graphics crews, and bball sneakers really believe comfort doesn't exist outside those margins or if they are actually too naive/stubborn to find out for themselves.

I'm starting to dress my age I notice the styles I wore back in 2000 to 04 are back in and I still have those styles (picture tees, word tees, and baggy Jordan shorts)I got rid of the platinum Fubu Willie Esco and pelle pelle lol

Wear whats comfortable. In my opinion the only thing that makes someone look childish is clothes that don't fit.

There are a ton of older people who wear jordans and such, but dont look childish at all.

All of these guys are over 35.
