The thing is it does. I read somewhere Chip never won the recruiting battles with other Pac-12 rivals and was stuck with the "scraps," but still found players who fit the system and had the best offense in college football. I can't wait to see what Chip's team is gonna look like when he actually gets the players he genuinely wants which I'm assuming, by the moves we're making, are bigger players who will just flat out be more physical and athletic than you.

Yup 100% correct which is why I believe in him

Desean was gone next year so I have no problem drafting his replacement now and grooming him for 2015 when the Eagles will truly be considered a contender for a SB

honestly, as i've mentioned a couple times.. i could see us taking 2 WRs in this draft, just because of the depth of the position in this draft and thus the ability to get quality guys later on

but only cooper and maclin are guaranteed to make the team out of the current WRs.. and mac is on a 1 year deal and coming off of his 2nd major knee injury

if we get 2 rookies in who can come in and play small roles on the team this year (mainly special teams and get a handful of snaps).. and if they can show something, we can let maclin go after this season if he shows he hasnt fully recovered from his knee injury (plus we dont take the long term risk.. and tie up money)

I def think they may take two WR's

To me it's a lock either in the 1st or 2nd and probably in the 4th or 5th

i hoping we can get someone like jeremiah attaochu or marcus smith in the 2nd round.. then go secondary in the 3rd, by some miracle if deone bucannon is there or stanley jean-baptiste or keith mcgill are there

I'd be very okay with Jeremiah Attaochu in the 2nd; he's looked great so far

I like Cooks a lot; dude is a burner and wants to be the best
I really don't think we're drafting Cooks though. From what I'm reading it seems like Kelly just wants someone huge and thinking about it, that makes a ton of sense. The fast pace offense plus the necessary strength it takes for defense's to match the strength of bigger receivers will only make the defenses more tired than a dude that is just really fast.

Evan Mathis really wants that new contract. I get the vibe that this Chip/Howie regime is like the Pats. They're in charge and if you're not conforming or causing problems you're gone. Don't think they're gonna laugh at Mathis' instagram post.

Mathis doesn't really have a bargaining chip

Teams think he's a product of the system according to reports and teams don't wanna trade for him and then on top of it give him a new deal.

I read the same note online, but I don't necessarily agree. He played at an All-Pro level when Mudd was the O-line coach which was a different system. I think more so the fact that he is a 33yr old guard who is already making $4-5million per year, that a team wouldn't want to give up compensation and a raise in that regard.

I like Cooks and he is a burner; rumors are Chip does too but who knows

my ideal situation would be Pryor in the 1st and my boy Allen Robinson in the 2nd

if robinson is there in the 2nd we have to take him, i wouldnt care if we had just taken evans, cooks or beckham in the 1st (the 3 WRs i like in the first).. i guess it all depends on how the draft plays out

but cooper is the only WR i see for sure on this team in two years.. and him and maclin are the only ones guaranteed to have roster spots this upcoming year.. i assume smith with make it, but that's about it (so we have another 2-3 roster spots open depending on if we carry 5 or 6 WRs)

Yeah I mean I would be fine going WR back to back; you can find a lot of good players on D who can come right in and play in rounds 3 and on these days

i assume the team is going go best player available, and the draft might just shake up being that for us it might be 2 wrs in the first 2 rounds..

i assume both safeties will be gone before 22.. ditto mack and barr.. and i dont think that highly of mosley

corner, wr or maybe hageman will probably be the BPA for us if we stand pat at 22

Not lee's biggest fan, but the more I think about it.. If lee drops into the 2nd, which is very realistic with the depth at WR then he could be a trade up candidate in the 2nd

“@Gil_Brandt: Don't think I've ever seen a head coach attend more pro days than #Eagles' Chip Kelly has this year. At #LSU's today.”
