I believe it's a 1 year deal and he won't be able to get franchised, he'll be unrestricted.

As far as Mariota, if Chip wants him then I think they should do everything in their power to acquire him. Chip is obviously very high on him and he loves his oregon guys (see Josh Huff). They've stayed away from big name players in FA so we'll see if that trend continues in the draft too. I'd much rather have a top defensive talent picked early on.

Sanchez is blinding a lot of us, making Foles seem like a savior, although he would be a better option atm(which is not saying much).

If chip wanted to go for MM8 I'd be all for it.

If Rex Ryan is fired I'd also be very interested in him as the DC, I do have a hard time imagining Chip and Rex getting along.


Season is still not over yet, I know Washington fans are salivating over the chance to end the Cowboys season. Just have to win out and hope for Dallas to lose both to Indy and Washington

Dallas has to lose 1 of those not both. WIth same record we would be in
 
neither foles or sanchez is the answer at QB.. we are getting a QB in the draft (which obviously leaves a number of possibilities)

then it all depends on who is available in free agency on what we do going into next season.. foles still has a year on his rookie deal.. sanchez could probably resigned for cheap to be the backup.. and who knows who is going to be available (does san fran want to move keep.. whatever happens with RG3)
 
at this point; I have changed my position on MM8, I am all in

Foles will still fetch you some kind of draft pick, move him even if it's for a 4th and look to address corner in FA
 
but for all the things that went wrong, the celek fumble was the nail in the coffin..

I say move him and barkley if we can get anything..

we just need a place holder IF we do end up getting mariota.. hell if we can get hundley in the 2nd I say move those guys and bring someone in for cheap for a year or 2

I think if they get MM8 then he starts from day 1; maybe Sanchez resigns are the back up
 
I can deal with sanchez on a cheap 2 or 3 year deal as the backup.. but too many mistakes to be the guy.. missed reads, errant throws, poor pocket presence, poor situational awareness..

we know sanchez isn't beating good teams.. same goes for foles who has pretty much the same issues

yeah 100% don't expect either of those two to be the opening day starter in 2015

Yall were high on foles. Foles plays bad gets hurt. then HIGH on sanchez. sanchez plays like the backup he is.

Now you are willing to potentially give up multiple first rounders for mariota when we have an atrocious secondary

With even avg corners we win that game

I am; Foles proved to me he can be a Matt Schuab type QB this year not "the guy"

Sanchez is what he is; he got a 2nd chance but proved he is just a game manager at best

I want the franchise QB now
 
Yea the Celek fumble was costly. He RARELY fumbles and lands on top of the defender? Just bad luck :smh:
Regardless of what happens this season, still excited for the future of this squad. NFL is meeting next year to discuss playoff expansion and if we go 11-5 and miss the playoffs then they'd have to do something to change it IMO.

nah man.. I hoped sanchez was the product of a bad situation (like steve young in tampa).. I hoped that in a wayyyy better situation a guy who has won at every other level would put it together (and he had been to 2 AFC championship games)

with foles we saw the bad last year, but he got away with it.. and that's why he still had to prove this year that he could be the guy and fix those bad problems from last year.. this year he just wasn't getting away with it and all the bad things seemed like they went on steroids

neither is THE guy.. but I think our secondary could benefit from a better coach and is easier to address in free agency

if we can get mariota at a doable price, I'm for it.. but I'm also for using our first on a CB or S and then moving up in the 2nd for hundley

not really; I think the o line excuse is too much of a pass for him

every QB isn't gonna have an elite o line to play behind; the o line still wasn't terrible plus all that back foot throwing and his inability to move into the pocket to pass has me concerned that he is what he is

days like today make you realize just how good McNabb really was
 
Philip rivers is on his 4th or 5th center.. Rodgers has had injuries on his oline..

it's football, it happens.. I think our running game suffered because of the injuries to the Oline..

but him throwing while he's back peddling.. or throwing up ducks.. or misreading plays.. or just general inaccuracy.. that's all on him.. just look at the Jacksonville game

Yall dont feel that the secondary is more at need then trading up an arm and a leg?

There will be qbs in the later rounds where we won't have to hinder our progress.

Is the qb position really that critical in this system? I dont think so. As seen by success by both guys
 
Im not opposed to drafting a qb

Im opposed to crippling our team and selecting MM

Let Foles battle in training camp with a rookie qb not selected in the 1st round

1st round CB or SAFETY
 
If I were to choose our most glaring problem, it really isn't the QB position. Honestly, this system is made to "plug and play" a QB (a QB with decent talent). The problem is our secondary, and its not even close. Other than Jenkins, theres just nothing there. Boykin isn't having the same year he had last year. Williams, Fletcher are garbage.
 
I think we need a better QB.. or at least a QB with a higher ceiling.. I don't think mariota is our only option in that regard

for me it all comes down to the price.. I'm willing to pay a premium, but not give up the whole world

also it takes time when drafting CBs.. safeties can transition a little quicker depending on what else is on the team..
