AEG's plan for downtown LA stadium shut down by NFL

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--s...looks-like-a-no-go-for-the-nfl-000059874.html

Looks like we're staying in Oakland, boys. I think this is bad news for the Raiders in that they lose leverage against the City of Oakland in threatening to leave for LA. Now Oakland can worry less about an imminent LA threat and slow the Raiders roll in pushing for a stadium.

I figured tht LA wasn't gonna get a team I mean not only is there no room in Downtown LA to build one but AEG simple doesn't have the fund . They'd have to shut down several streets inorder to renovate the convention center and build a gigantic stadium in the process not even mention the Nokia center . It js wouldn't work ... At least not in tht area .

"We continue to monitor the AEG situation and remain interested in multiple sites in the Los Angeles area," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement.

Downtown Los Angeles is dead, but from what I understand, the City of Industry is still a possibility. I always thought they had the better setup for a stadium than Downtown LA. Sounds like AEG finds a buyer and then pitches a different locaiton...doubt this is over.

Dashon Goldson and Glenn Dorsey will hit the open market.

Personally, I wouldn't mind signing Goldson, Dorsey and Dunta Robinson. D.J. Williams would be interesting...

Any1 thinks Philip Wheeler or Brandon Myers will get re-signed? Also heard texans are interested in Shane Lechler.

I fully expect Wheeler to be re-signed, Myers too but not as confident about him. Lechler will most definitely be gone.

Wheelers gonna be resigned, but i think they gonna let Myers walk, and used that money to get Dunta or DJ Williams

Checking in. Didn't know there were so many raider fans

We're definitely one of the most dedicated fanbases here on NikeTalk. Our offseason and in-season thread is more busy than nearly all other NFL team threads.

I wonder how much interest Reggie has in Dashon Goldson. Does the guy have any off the field issues or attitude problems?

We need to play up the angle that we are set on Geno as much as possible. I'm convinced that Reggie is trying to entice some team looking for the next Russell Wilson to leapfrog their spot to take the third overall pick.

If we take Geno then Palmer is as good as gone. I expect both Wheeler and Myers to be back, both were the most consistent players for us on each side of the ball. If we plan to keep Huff at corner, Goldson and Branch playing the safeties for us would be :smokin . I'd like DJ Williams but a more cap friendly option we should look at is Larry Grant. Dude did a pretty good job when Patrick Willis went down and would be more than serviceable for us IMO.

Nah. Only problem I see or of heard of with him is the deep ball. But other than that, dude is cool. IMO, he would bring back that umph in the safety spot. The don't go across the middle mentality.

Given that Goldson has been public about wanting to stay with the Niners, I see that he's at least interested in staying in the Bay Area, if not intent upon it. We can capitalize.

Whoa.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20130305/hue-jackson/index.html

Jackson claims that before being hired as offensive coordinator in 2009, Al Davis offered him the position of general manager. Jackson says he turned it down because his passion is coaching and working with players. He says he and Davis never discussed him taking the head coach position -- contrary to speculation that he accepted the coordinator position with an eye on the top job, held by Tom Cable at the time.

I almost can't believe it. Was Al really prepared to give up personnel hires to an outsider just like that?

I believe Hue...then again he is my favorite Raider Coach since Gruden.

Man Hue Jackson aka new Gruden and Palmer aka new Gannon would have been epic if they had been given another season. Instead we got Reggie McMoron running the team and Dennis Allen aka Shell 3.0
