I think so. I can't remember for sure (and can't get into Twitter at work) but I remember Dan Rafael saying something about how it may not have been the same contract Schaefer was showing some people before sending it. I know he said it included everything from who walks first, to the theme music and a bunch of other ****.

But somewhere in the contract states the fight has to happen between April 13 to June 30 and if it didn't GBP wanted no liability for any reason. Sneaky because Donaire's wife is due sometime between mid June to early July.

Look at this fool Broner trying to lift 235..

says it's 315, but I see 2 25's on each side, 1 45 on each side, and olympic bar is 45.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4  8:40PM-9:30PM

It reairs at 11 p.m. Eastern time

Speaking of Mares/Donaire:

Junior featherweight titlist Abner Mares, unable to make the fight he really wants -- a unification bout with Nonito Donaire -- is vacating his world title and moving up to the featherweight division.

"Moving up to featherweight was already in our plans even before this Donaire situation," Mares told ESPN.com on Thursday. "We wanted to fight Donaire and we did whatever was possible in our power to make that fight. That is the fight that I wanted. That is the fight the fans wanted. It didn't happen.

"There needs to be a reason to stay at 122 (pounds). I don't make 122 easily. So I have the chance to move up to 126. I have accomplished a lot already, so I said let's give this a try and conquer another weight class."

Mares had been hoping to face Donaire in his next fight, one of the most hyped potential bouts in boxing. However, Donaire and his promoter, Top Rank, rejected a $3 million offer -- likely a world-record amount for one side of a junior featherweight fight -- from archrival Golden Boy, Mares' promoter, this week. Golden Boy made the offer in a detailed 13-page contract proposal for the fight to take place no later than June 30.

"The ball was thrown to Donaire and Top Rank and they didn't want to take the fight," Mares said. "It was a very good offer. They could have thrown a counteroffer but they never did. That says a lot."

Instead, Donaire is headed to an April 13 HBO fight, likely against fellow 122-pound titleholder Guillermo Rigondeaux, who is also with Top Rank.

That left Mares (25-0-1, 13 KOs), 27, to make a mandatory defense against Mexico's little-known Victor Terrazas (36-2-1, 21 KOs), 29, after the WBC scheduled a purse bid for Friday. Terrazas is on a 10-fight winning streak since suffering a ninth-round knockout loss to Rendall Munroe in a title eliminator in April 2010. During his winning streak, Terrazas outpointed former bantamweight titlist Fernando Montiel in 2011 for his biggest victory.

However, a Mares-Terrazas fight would likely not attract much attention nor would it generate a substantial purse, leaving Mares, also a former bantamweight titleholder, to look for a bigger fight in a heavier weight class.

"Terrazas needs me more than I need him," Mares said. "If I fought him and won the fight, everyone would say 'Who is Terrazas?' I don't need that fight or to do a mandatory. I paid my dues. There's no better time to move up to featherweight. My goal is to become champion again in that weight class."

Frank Espinoza, Mares' manager, told ESPN.com that he was disappointed that the fight with Donaire did not come through but that even without it, he would keep Mares' career moving forward.

"We were looking to fight Donaire but that fight didn't develop so we are moving on," Espinoza said. "Abner is giving up his title and we'll start entertaining the 126-pound division. We look forward to him going up to challenge the fighters in the division."

One possible opponent down the road could be titleholder Daniel Ponce De Leon, whom Espinoza also manages. Ponce De Leon and Mares are also both promoted by Golden Boy, making it a relatively easy deal to make. Mexico's Ponce De Leon (44-4, 35 KOs) makes his first title defense against Jayson Velez (20-0, 15 KOs) of Puerto Rico on March 2 in New York on Showtime, the network that has been showing Mares' fights for years.

Before any title bout, Espinoza said Mares likely would fight in April.

"We'll get Abner a tune-up fight and sit down with Golden Boy and discuss the future," Espinoza said. "He had been wanting to move up but he was willing to still fight at 122 if the Donaire fight would have happened. But since it didn't happen, he wanted to move up and try to become a three-division world champion."

In 2011, Mares won Showtime's four-man bantamweight tournament and a world title against Joseph Agbeko. Mares defended the title once in a rematch with Agbeko and then moved up to junior featherweight in 2012. He easily outpointed former flyweight titlist Eric Morel in April to win a vacant belt and then made one defense, a similarly lopsided decision win against Anselmo Moreno, a bantamweight titleholder who moved up in weight to challenge Mares, in November.

Although he is moving up in weight, Mares said he is not closing the door on a Donaire fight for good.

"I want to say that I am still open to fighting at 122 to make the fight with Donaire," Mares said. "I know Top Rank said after his fight is done on April 13 that they are willing to negotiate. I hope that's the case. If it is, and they want to do the fight at 122, I am more than open to it. Or we can do it at 126. Either way.

"I'm not saying Nonito is afraid of me. He's not. He's a fighter, but sometimes business makes it tough. If Nonito doesn't wind up fighting Rigondeaux I want people to know that I am willing to fight Rigondeaux also."

Somebody watches Kevin Hart...lol. This dude Broner is a clown.

but back to boxing; For some reason I feel like Rios/Alvarado will fight multiple times in their careers and quite frankly I wouldnt mind. Anything can change/happen in boxing in the blink of an eye tho.

Anyone know if the Juan Manuel Lopez fight will be televised in the States this weekend?

He's done a lot to change Maidana already though.

Middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin, fresh off a seventh-round destruction of Gabriel Rosado on Jan. 19, is wasting no time getting back into the ring.

Golovkin will return to make his seventh title defense on March 30 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, according to K2 promoter Tom Loeffler. His opponent is not signed yet, but likely will be Nobuhiro Ishida, Loeffler told ESPN.com Thursday.

Ishida (24-8-2, 9 KOs), of Japan, is a former interim junior middleweight titlist who gained attention in 2011 when he pulled off a major upset by knocking out James Kirkland in the first round in Las Vegas. But Ishida, 37, has lost his past two bouts, dropping a shutout decision to Paul Williams in a junior middleweight fight in February 2012, followed by a lopsided decision loss in May to Dmitry Pirog in Russia in a middleweight title fight.

The March fight is meant for Golovkin, 30, to stay busy before a probable fight in June on HBO, which has televised his past two bouts but is not involved in the fight in Monte Carlo.

"We would look for the biggest names that would fight him by that time," Loeffler said of the June bout. "Hopefully someone steps up (to fight Golovkin) with the bigger HBO budget."

Golovkin (25-0, 22 KOs), who is from Kazakhstan but trains in the United States, would like to face any of the big names in the division.

First on his list is titleholder Daniel Geale, who easily outpointed Australian countryman Anthony Mundine to retain his belt Wednesday.

"I was impressed with Daniel Geale's performance and wish to publicly congratulate him on his victory," Golovkin said. "I know this was personal for him as he had lost previously to Mundine and he certainly got his revenge."

Another fight Golovkin would like is against former titlist Felix Sturm, who refused to fight Golovkin even when it was a mandatory fight. Sturm eventually lost his belt to Geale, and will fight Sam Soliman Friday in Germany in a title eliminator.

"I also want to wish Felix Sturm the best of luck in his upcoming bout against Soliman," Golovkin said. "I'm sure he was quite disappointed losing to Geale last September and is looking to shine against Soliman. Felix avoided me as his mandatory for over two years when he was champion, but I will give him the opportunity to fight for his old title whenever he would like to."

Geale gave up one of his belts to face Mundine rather than face Golovkin in a mandatory fight.

Titleholder Peter Quillin is another opponent Golovkin is interested in. Quillin makes his first title defense against Fernando Guerrero on April 27 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The card was postponed from Feb. 9 because junior welterweight titlist Danny Garcia, who faces former titlist Zab Judah in the main event, suffered a rib injury.

"I'm aware that his fight with Fernando Guerrero was pushed back until the end of April. He's talked about fighting me in the past and I'm certainly interested if he's serious," Golovkin said.

Division champion Sergio Martinez is an unlikely opponent, as much as Golovkin would love the fight. Martinez promoter Lou DiBella barely acknowledges Golovkin's existence and had downplayed the possibility of the fight. Besides, Martinez is scheduled to face Martin Murray on April 27 and then, with a win, probably will face former titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a rematch in September.

"I want the biggest fights and the best challenges, as I've said all along," Golovkin said. "With HBO broadcasting my fights, either Geale or Sturm would be a perfect fight this year. Geale said after the fight (with Mundine) that he wanted to fight in the U.S. this year. Look no further -- we can make a title unification bout this summer."

Well at least he's fighting more often and in the US, he'll be getting more exposure. I think outside of Macklin, all of the top 10 MW's are tied up until his fight with Ishida. IDK if he had other options.

My God....

R.I.P. Omar Henry.

Today he was pronounced dead at the young age of 25.... :frown:

It feels like yesterday I was having my conversation with him about boxing, tattoos, when he's gonna fight again. I wish I still had my photo of me and Omar. dude even liked a picture of me and my girl on Facebook...

So damn young man....

It sounds like he wants a busy 2013, and I can't blame him. He needs to put his name out as much as possible.

From the sounds of it, he'll fight three times by June, and potentially five times this year. That's a damn busy year for any boxer his age.

Did anyone watch the bonus fight on ESPN3 tonight? It was awesome.

I won't spoil it, but go catch it on www.watchespn.com

Szpilka and Mollo. It's definitely worth your time.

so when the F is Mayweather announcing who hes fighting?
i have a weird feeling its going to be JMM :smh:

out of all the fights to make the most money it would be either him or Canelo and i heard Canelo is fighting Trout on the same card

I don't think JMM would take that fight. If he's scheduled to fight Pac again in the fall it would be closer to 50/50 purse than Floyd would offer.
