** Soccer/Futbol/Football Feet, Kits and Gear - 2013 **

What's the difference between authentic kits and replica kits?

I'm on Nike and the only difference to me is that the Authentic kit's badge aren't stitched on. Wonder if anyone knows.

Also does Aduidas not offer authentic kits?

There's another thread? Lol

I'm not trying to go thru 140 pages for an answer, do you have the answer?

Only if you stop slurping Ronaldo

just kidding

Nike's replicas are intended for the casual fan to wear out and about, therefore it kinda fits like a regular t-shirt. The brand logo and club crest are embroidered on the replicas.

Now the authentic kits are different, the fit is much tighter because this is what the players you see on TV actually wear. Most people suggest sizing up because the fit is so tight. The Nike authentic come with the laser etched holes under the armpits by the ribs and the "t-bars" on the shoulders. Now, for some odd reason Nike has been inconsistent lately when it comes to the logo and club crest being embroidered. Usually on the authentic kits, everything is heat pressed. But lateyly Nike has been stitching them for some reason beyond my knowledge.

Adidas does in fact make authentic kits, there's 2 types, Formotion and TechFit. But judging from fellow NT'ers feedback, they are so tight you have to size up two sizes from your normal size.

Nice, thanks for the info. The authentic jerseys are hard to find tho right? I can't find any Porto ones online, none. I ask because the jersey Porto wears on the field; the logo, looks dope, it shines. While the replica ones are stitched. I want that one, but I know it's going to be a crazy hassle.

Didn't know that about the sizing tho. Thanks.

this thread is for unveiling the latest kits for the next season of footy. usually this thread would die down since once footy seasons start around the world we'll see the kits in action. the other thread mentioned is showing off your personal collection of Jerseys from over the years. i should post my scarfs, got more of those then jerseys.

Club legend Thierry Henry and club legend in the making Olivier Giroud wearing next year's stuff.  All courtesy of sprint legend Mr. Linford Christie's twitter feed.  Tweet was taken down, but not before Gooners made the pic go viral.

Personally, I'm disappointed.  All I want is a red shirt with white sleeves.  Nike, and now Puma, are busy trying to reinvent the wheel to detrimental effect.

As a Gooner, I'm sad to see Nike go. Its been part of the team's aesthetic as the Club became world class and its popularity soared in the late 90's. IMO, the gear always looked good (minus a couple of hideious iterations) and was at the forefront of tech and fashion (footy-wise). I will def be stocking up on Nike Arsenal gear before they make the switch.

Hopefully Puma can do better than what I see in these pics, although it makes sense that Thierry Henry and Giroud are wearing the new kits as they are both Puma athletes (is Sagna though?). I'm def disappointed as well, hopefully we can become Puma's flagship as I'm not even sure who their flagship team IS (like ManU and Barca are for Nike), maybe BVB?

Yes, Sagna is with Puma this season (see pic below).  I wasn't sure if the hopelessly generic hoody he's wearing in the pic is a Puma product, which is why I didn't mention him.  He's been immense this season, which is worth mentioning.

Arsenal was one of Nikes first clubs when they entered the football world. Kind of disappointed Nike didn't match Puma's offer on that. But hey, things change.

I think Puma kits are dull and boring. They for some reason cannot keep up with Adidas or Nike. Not to mention they put there logo everywhere they can on the kit, but maybe this a turning point? Still need more pics.

i want to love this, but it's obvious this was designed by euro-based designers who have never seen express's logo....

Netherlands has been using that lion since the 1970s though (maybe earlier?)...

That Brasil Nike shirt looks like the same silhouette of a Nike women's tennis top, specifically the v-neck. I hope that's not the shirt. It looks terrible (the v neck part).

That Portugal kit is fire :pimp:

It does look good, but those green strips on the top of the sleeves is :x

Doubt it will come out like that. Nike Usually makes them blend in. I don't know why Nike uses those things in the first place. Looks like Portugal will be all-red tho the way the jersey looks.

Hope for green shorts tho.

Wth this kit leak, I think it'd be dope to see them in dark green shorts and red socks matching the shirt. Portugal has literally gone all red for the past 8 years. I'm not a fan of that. Nike does this with France now too. All color uniforms are boring to me.

In 2010 we did go red top, white shorts, and green socks for a short time - that was a throwback combination. That's my favorite.

now that belgium has qualified for brasil, you would think that nike/adidas/puma would buy out burrda's kit sponsorship, right? 2013-14 is the last year of the burrda deal. kompany, lukaku, fellani, vertonghen, vermaelen, de bruyne, mirallas, benteke and of course hazard.... potentially januzaj. they're stacked with young and exciting talent. they'll have a great chance to make it out of the group stage.

new Mexico kit is trash, when I seen it on TV last night I was like WTF :x

I was thinking the same thing, those kits burrda supplied them with are hideous. they should go back with the Swoosh

Haha, was thinking the same thing.

How are Nike going to let Brasil come out in there own World Cup looking like women's national team?

It's so easy not mess up the Brasil kit, just keep it simple. Nike stays messing them up tho.
