Clash of Clans is a popular iPad/iPhone/iPod/Android game created by "Supercell". It has been available internationally on the iTunes store for free since its initial v1.7 release on 2 August 2012, and on the Google Play Store since 8 October 2013. Clash of Clans is a strategy game where players can construct and expand one's village, unlock successively more powerful warriors and defenses, raid and pillage resources from other villages, create and join Clans and much, much more.

Although Clash of Clans is Free-to-Play, additional in-game currency can be purchased for real money from the Apple App Store/Google Play Store in the form of In-App Purchases. However, all features of the game are open to players who choose not to make In-App Purchases. Clash of Clans is available on iOS and Android devices!

Supercell’s free-to-play titles grossing $15M a month on iOS

Finnish developer Supercell has told the New York Times its free-to-play iOS games are seeing sales in excess of $500,000 a day. On a monthly basis that translates to more than $15 million in gross revenue, or $10.5 million after Apple takes its 30 percent transaction fee.

The figure, which includes revenues from both Hay Day and Clash of the Clans, is yet another indication that a top grossing iOS game is now easily earning in excess of $5 million a month. In August the U.K.’s NaturalMotion revealed its popular free-to-play drag racing title CSR Racing was seeing sales of more than $12 million a month, a figure that still stands as the high-water mark for a single iOS game.

According to AppData, Clash of the Clans is currently the No. 2 top grossing iPhone and iPad app. Hay Day is the No. 19 top grossing iPhone app and the No. 14 iPad app.

The figures are also a validation of the company’s tablet-first gaming strategy. In March the company’s general manager Greg Harper told us in an interview he believed that there was a direct correlation between high tablet engagement rates the higher rate of monetization on tablet games. With revenues currently in excess of $10 million a month, Harper’s predictions seem to have borne fruit.

Yeah, you have to build the Clan Castle. That took me like 1 day or something.

If you build it asap. I can help you win more battles by sending you some forces you can't get yet :pimp:

So hard to find a good clan in this game that donates forces when someone asks for them etc.. Hope we will find Good Guy Gregs from NT.
 
This game is fun but like the Simpson's game, I don't see myself spending real money to get some gems.

I'm down to join a NT clan, I'm currently level 42.

Is there ads in the game? If not, can someone please explain how they are making that much money?
 
gold mines are not the way to go. Raiding gets you 40-50k easy. The whole shield thing is silly. When you get raided they can only take around 20% of your reserves. Defense in general is silly. Everything rebuilds and the money lost is far out weighed by the amount you can pull in raiding. The only thing you need to be concerned about is losing trophies. Place your builders huts in the corners of the map along with other non-essential things like the lab. Keep you village in the center, that way they have to run all around the map to get three stars and as many trophies as possible. Dont back up your village to the sides of the map cause they can drop troops there when attacking. Keep your cannons and stuff behind your walls as well as your storage units. Then surround your walls with gold mines, barracks, elixir mines, and camps to slow the archers and barbarians down. I don't even stress about upgrading the mines and instead focus on upgrading the troops and town hall.

On point, but I disagree about the defenses. Raids become harder and harder to win because they match you with people with strong defenses as you progress. Sometimes you spend more elixir building your army than you get from the raid, so you have to be strategic with your battles.

One of the weak points of this game is that if you're logged in you cant be raided. So I just keep the game logged in and spend all my money before I quit. That way there is not incentive to raid me.
