NT, at what age did you start your career?

I'd rather not get into the specifics of my personal life, but thus far my "adult life" has been very non-traditional, as far as going to college --> graduating in four/five years --> settling into an occupation --> eventually carving out a career.

I've only recently committed myself to a structured life, in other words I've kissed my dreams goodbye for a better chance of attaining and living that middle-class life. A wife, two kids, a dog, a white picket fenced house in suburbia--honestly, there's no shame in this; no shame in wanting safety.

Anyway, if everything goes as planned, I'd begin my career in my early 30s, 10 years after the normal "start" date. I'm in my mid 20s now. So by early 30s would it be too late to start adult living or can I still attain that decent middle class life?

Keep in mind that I would ideally like to begin my career in my mid 30s and officially be settled down in my mid to late 30s.

Started my career at 19. I'm 27 now.
What's your career field? I'm 19 now, and feel bummy after reading your post.

I'm going through school now, and I'm hoping a company will be willing to pay for my MBA after I graduate. If I'm unemployed at the age of 25, I plan on taking my talents to the Navy.

bruh in your 30's that still young.

if you letting that get to you, dont! let it motivate you to get to where you need to get.

handle what you got to handle

Nothing wrong with that. I work in the IT field, went to a tech school right after high school and was picked up by a company shortly upon graduating there. Been doing IT since.

30 is better than 40, 50 or never at all.

And I'll be 27 when I start. Im 26 now

30 is young man, especially if youre planning on being in that career for the rest of your life

Hopefully by 25(Im 22 now) for me. I have a degree but i wanted an early career change so im going back to school to get a degree in the field of my new career choice(Accounting)

Started teaching when I was 24 and I'm old(er) now.

Don't use others as a point of reference. Just do your thing.

Depends on what you define as career.. I had my first job at 18. 14 jobs/careers later I finally started my dream career a year ago at 26

Still waiting for mine to begin, got two more years until I get my BBA in Finance and then I might say my career to officially begin

Didn't realize it at the time but started when I was 21 and now going on 24 in March.

23 and I'm older now. I'm thinking about doing something else but still in some what in the same career field.

What do u mean by career?

By career, I'm referring to that occupation that you ultimately decide to settle into and grow within. That profession where you wake up one day and realize that, "hmm this aint such a bad gig, in fact I wake up every morning during the work week looking forward to it...etc". Simply stated, a profession you've committed yourself to and love.
