Official Scam/Fraud Thread

Damn sorry to hear about your situation. Hope it works out to your benefit.

Judging by his feedback, I wouldn't have dealt with him.

I hate people that order things to switch what they have with what they ordered. Happened to me once and I was pissed...

How did your case turn out? If I have proof of purchase from a reputable retailer and he can't provide the same documentation, I don't see how he could win the case.

Seller beware, recently had a buyer file a chargeback a decent amount of time after receiving a pair of kicks I sold him. While I didn't ask for his NT screen name I'm sure he lurks and will buy from the marketplace again. If someone emails you from jayflores54@yahoo.com I would be cautious of dealing with them. Long story short he filed a chargeback claiming unauthorized payment, I called paypal and they released the funds immediately because I followed the rules they had. Crazy part is I have plenty of emails with him saying he received the invoice, sent the money, and got the kicks.

It wasn't kicks but something else. Amazon told me "sometimes you have to sacrifice things for business/reputation even if you're right". Im certain the item he returned was a personal item he broke himself.

Shoes purchased from me: AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH BAN "Imagine If" sz10.5 DS

So this person shoots me a text on 5/21/14 @ 2:39am offered me $900.00 shipped for my BANNED 1's that I had posted on the buy/sell forum. Told him if he pays $936.00 via Paypal Invoice, I will sell to him. He agrees to pay the $936.00 so I invoice him and he pays immediately like 10 minutes after sending him the invoice. I informed him that I will ship his shoes and provide him FedEx tracking once the actual payment clears through my bank account and he did not have a problem with it. I asked for his NT name but he seemed to avoid answering that question as if I never asked him but oh well. On 5/23/14, I ship the shoes and provide him the FedEx tracking number via text and through Paypal and also informed him that the package requires a signature upon delivery. He says he won't be home at the time when the package arrives but someone will be at his house to sign for the package. On 5/30/14, he shoots me a text and says "bro, we have a issue with the delivery, they say (FedEx) I signed for it but I wasn't home". Then he says his mom was home that day, but she didn't receive a package from FedEx. The buyer (Sean) said that FedEx confirmed with him that the package was in fact, delivered to the wrong address but when the FedEx driver went back to try and retrieve the package, the person that received it from the wrong address claimed he never received a package from FedEx and so it goes on back and forth.

Long story short, the buyer filed a charge back with his CC for "Item not received" on 6/10/14. Paypal puts a hold on my account for the amount of $936.00. After I reply to Paypal with my proof of shipment to the buyer and clear visibility that the package was received and signed for, Paypal removed the hold on my account and continued with the investigation. As of 7/21/14, the case has been closed by Paypal and they did not take the money from my account. Seller gets the "W" on this particular situation :D .

For all NT sellers that provides their phone numbers on their "for sale" ad on the buy/sell forum, look out for a scammer that goes by the name of "Isneaker95". This dude claims Paypal ready for the 2013 Royal 1's I was selling on the buy/sell forum at the time and requested additional pictures of the Royal's with his name, "Isneaker95" next to the pictures to show that I do have the shoes on hand and currently. I got caught slippin' and did exactly what he asked so I provided him pictures and he used those pictures I sent him to create his own for sale thread on Sole Collector market place. He didn't get any shoes from me but his scam is to try to get you to send him pictures with his own name on it so he can use them for his own then you won't hear from him again. I had to learn the hard way. So this is a heads up to all!!!!

23goat 23goat - your post has been edited. looks like the buyer wasn't scamming at all. it was an issue with FedEx. you honestly should have added insurance for the shoes as safety valve especially since the buyer lost out on the money and never received his package.

The FedEx tracking number when tracked at the FedEx website clearly shows that the recipient/buyer is the one who signed for it but claimed he never received or signed for any packages. I would obviously ship to the recipients Paypal "Confirmed" address as I always do so that I am protected as seller with Paypal. I called FedEX myself and referenced the tracking number and they told me that what the recipient is claiming is very unlikely regarding the package being delivered to the wrong address. They don't even have any notations in their system that the recipient filed any complaint or case with FedEx, shipping to the wrong address. What I'm saying is the guy wasn't even a member of NT (nor did he claim if he was) as I asked him a couple of times through out our text conversation but he never replied to it. He seems like a person that trolls the by sell forum and hits up the seller if they provide a phone number on the ad. Next thing you know, there was a Paypal claim for "charge back". All the people I've dealt/traded/sold to are NT members and haven't had an issue yet. Everything about this guy was all too suspect after I've shipped him the shoes.

Since you've edited my post, his info can't be seen and no one else can chime in if any other NT member has dealt with him before whether to possibly determine in the future if this guy is a fraud/scam or my situation with him was purely a courier error but we won't know that now. Thanks for posting my other scam report though regarding "Isneaker95".

ah ok. it was a little unclear since you never stated that you followed up with fedex (or maybe I missed it). I reverted your post back to the pre-edited version.

Good looking out I almost sold this guy concord's but he was claiming a different address from a military base.

He claims his NT screen name is verbalkint28.

Which one of the 2 did you almost sell your Concords to? Sean Harrison or Isneaker95? If it is Sean Harrison, the Paypal address he provided me and got paid through is hdzzl25@aol.com which is not the same as what verbalkint28 (*********@hotmail.com) provided to me. I know this because verbalkint28 also hit me up via PM for my 2013 Jordan 1 High OG black/metallic gold-white. If Sean Harrison and verbalkint28 is the same person, clearly there is something fishy/scam going on or Sean Harrison is a fraud like I expected and he's trying to claim/use another NT'ers name.

HEADS UP NT!!! This dude Verbalkint28 (a.k.a) Sean Harrison is at it again trying to buy shoes from me again and asked me to invoice him. The scam that happened to me with this guy was a little over a year ago over my DS pair of Jordan 1 "BANNED" that he claimed never received and did a charge back on his credit card. I currently have a pair of Lebron 8 "China" on the for sale thread that he is interested in. I mean, whats wrong with this guy?? trying to buy shoes again from a person he scammed?? That's like returning to the scene of the crime after you got away with murder......SMH.

Do not sell to this guy or you will regret it!!!!

11-4-15 - Texted him to see if he still had the shoes, then offered how much I was willing to pay. He accepted so I sent payment later that night. He claimed that he was going to send the shoes out the next day. Told him that was ok and to let me know tracking when he gets it.

11-5-15 - Never heard anything from him.

11-6-15 - I texted him asking if he ever go them shipped out at 7:05 AM. No response. Texted him again at 3:30 PM and still no response.

11-7-15 - I texted him again asking if they've been shipped at 6:00 AM. No response. Texted him again at 5:30 PM saying that if he doesn't answer me by Monday 11-9-15 that I'm going to file a claim through PayPal.

11-9-15 - Texted him saying one last chance to respond. No answer so I filed the claim on PayPal.

Still working out the details but hopefully I can get my money back. Normally I'm pretty good at picking out the scammers, but I've never had any trouble with NT in the past. I should have noticed something sketchy right away when his profile says joined in 2006 and only 143 posts..... Not sure how his listing even got up being he doesnt have 300 posts.

I learned my lesson and now, even on NT :smh: , I'll have to really be aware. This seems to be happening a lot to people, I think it's time to think about how we are going to eliminate scammers. Something to prevent them from coming back and doing it again would be nice too.

This user on ebay @MIANM14 aka Michael Nagan from Houston, Teaxas is a con-artist/scammer.   The reason I am mentioning him in here is because I did a search and he was previously mentioned briefly for trading Yeezy's.  I was selling my Nike x R.T. in black on ebay, when he hit me up for a trade for his Yeezy Boost.  Long story short, I drew up an agreement, we both agreed to ship on the same day and swap tracking numbers.  I'm in New York, he's in Houston.  His package was delivered, he gave me a fake tracking number which shipped to Alabama! DO NOT TRUST THIS FOOL MICHAEL NAGAN from Houston.  I phoned up the Houston police and USPS for an investigation.  Just giving you guys a heads up on @mianm14.
