JB release numbers now reflect the hype for the shoe/colorway...

Yeah this info helps alot since I it makes sense that we started seeing this a year or so ago. Because I copped an extra pair of Bordeaux 7s off of Eastbay months after the release and they had a full size run including the cool grey 11s.

Now I have seen every site including nike.com restock GMPs on sale for $220. This is music to my ears for the releases I missed

What i find funny, is that if Gentry was still running JB everyone would be spiting venom left and right and how, dude is sooo horrible and How he is ruining JB

but now since, larry miller is running things it seems he gets a pass. Gentry influence and ideas shouldve ran their course by now and all of this nonsense, with the 88 retro and so on,  should fall on miller's shoulders

How, if the restock is gone in minutes also?

i gotta say out of any recent and new niketalker that i can remember

kamuekcmo information was really on point 100%

Because the same hoarders with 3+ pairs with that one to rock one to stock etc bs, resellers and the few that missed out the first time still want them so all those factors combined will result in sell outs each time regardless of restocks unless they legit flood the market.

I was saying why would he be so happy on these restocks, when they will be just as hard to get as the original release. They're gone in minutes also.

Not to discredit the thread starter but a lot of missed information. Im not sure who you're getting your info from but a lot of it consistently sounds like second hand sourcing - sort of like the end result of telephone.

It's no secret Jordan Brand monitors "hype" but to say that they're using it to decide how much shoes to ship is off. JB has the majority of its production run done 2 months before a release with a few having SLIGHTLY shorter time spans (look at your production tags)

These "restocks" that we are seeing are done internally by the different retailers. Jordan has 0 control over that. If it was a Nike/JB thing then you would see everyone doing a restock on the same day, its not a coincidence that it's happening on different days for different spots.

I had a long talk about this with a rep for a big retailer and the new marketing plan is to line up a major GR launch with a hyped release in hopes for the consumer to settle with the "other stuff" when the main thing sells out.

Clear example of this using restocks is Foot Locker putting out the tickets for the AREA 72 pack (yesterday) and then following up with a restock of Bred 11's and CG 9's the day after (today) - obviously this was planned months ago because they knew 1. the OG shipment for the All-Star pack was going to be low and 2. Their initial shipment of Breds and 9's was enough to stash a few for later.

Same goes with Finishline and their massive rerelease the day after '88 Jordan 3's. You think they didn't know every active shoehead was saving their $$$ for that launch but knew only about 10% would get through? What better way to still earn all that revenue and get rid of stuff they either didn't sell (since we all know the only ones doing RTS on retro Jordans are NIketowns) or lost count of by putting out all the left over kicks altogether the day after, no sale price needed.

So again JB isn't the one doing the "hold offs" or "rereleases" its the actual stores.

In terms of JB - their using a lot more high level calculations instead of "hype" to actually decide how many pairs of each shoe they should make...

Thats great info and I dont doubt you, but I am 100% sure JB is holding pairs as well... I have seen "with my own eyes" at least 3 diff retros in a JB warehouse sitting for a relaunch after they have dropped to the public.......

I'm not discounting this at all, but I don't see the purpose right now with the tiny quantities they're holding back. The Dave White Wings for the Future type of rerelease would make more sense IMO

the demand is so great because everyone buys like 10 pairs to keep. and when i say everyone i mean the person reading this comment.. #HYPEBEAST!! we know about you!

You really think these guys are buying multiples with the intention of keeping them,LOL. But good thing is that they are about to start having to trade shoes for food or let them go at retail to get their money back. The release calendar is full, the potential for restocks is real. It's getting real hard for people to milk the system. Lately, I have been straight bullying resellers, it's funny and they have been folding, left and right, because they know if they won't another guy will. And the key to alot of this is the fact that there are alot of rogue Nike/JB account holders who set their prices high on the net, then are getting stuck with them and have to negotiate once they realize the hype has passed.

Hey I am one person who buys triples with the intent to never sell ad wear them all. I have triples or Jordan xi Breds, cool greys, space jams, 25th anniversary but only two pairs or concords. 9 pairs of infrared 90's. triples of the full pack of Clark kent joints (90,1's, trainer 1) Jordan 13 I got flints, playoffs, Breds, altitudes(2008 version), he got games, white red only two. Etc.

I rock my ***** and pay no business and bust out a new pair when I deem the pair dead. But I don't do 10 pairs only 3. Lol. To much money. And I pick and choose only the ones I really like.

Out of curiosity, which ones have you seen in a warehouse?

I said JB warehouse but its a Nike warehouse, I seen Olive 9's, Cool Grey 11's, Thunder 4's, and Pink Foams..  This was like the 2nd week in January 2013, the Pink Foams restock today...

I highly doubt that because they produced half a million pairs.... But I can say that yesterday I was doing some shopping at my local mom and pops store and they have always had crazy lines for Jordans, I was even in the line when the bred 11's dropped to get them for my kids, I'm 100% sure they sold out that day... But I was there yesterday and they had almost a FSR in GS, toddlers, and had all sizes in men except for 11, he said they got a shipment later this past Monday.... :nerd:
mom and pop charging retail? thats a rarity
