JB release numbers now reflect the hype for the shoe/colorway...

JB doesn't care about what we want.
They care about $$$.

So true...

So then lets look at it like this...Since this whole idea of Retro's started, not talking the 1994 stuff, but when it really took off in the early 2000's which models have moved more units? OG / game worn colorways or the "Retro+" models as they were once labeled? As a whole that is...we'll say from January 10, 2000 through January 10, 2013...I'm posing this question to the JB members who are and always have been watching threads like this on website like NT...

You wan't to put your finger on the pulse of a buyer (Joe Schmo from off the street...not us "loyal customers")? Send any one of your employees out to any one of your stores with three shoes 1) An early retro quality white / cement III...2) A current retro White / Cement III...3) Finally your current "Joker" III's...Ask the first 10, 15, 20 whatever people you come across inside said store which of these shoes they would pefer...I guarantee you that 90% would pick the early retro quality white / cement III...Repeat this process as much as you like and I'm betting the results will not change...

Take a look at your business model, in relation to retro's (Your current bread and butter as it were) from the early part of the 2000's, you know what got you to your main source of revenue today...How has that model changes between then and now?

There I just saved you millions in research...You're welcome!

Trruuu (2chainz voice) I think your theory is spot on.

Case in point, Retro AJ 1's.

the only ones that will sell out imediately are OG CW's. I dont know how many different (and garbage) CW's on the 1's I've seen that sit on shelves forever and only occassionaly see them rocked by some kid in high school or the rich college boy. The same pairs that collect dust and ocassaionally go on sale.

Don't et me wrong, I'm all for product diversity like the CG IX's and the Kilroy's. JB just seems to not know when enough is enough. I guess the 1's were the first victims to some of these atrocious CW's because they did begin it all and have been around long enough to be toyed with. I'm 100% down with you for OG CW's over the retro skittles rainbow garbage.

I dont see the big deal. If they make more pairs great. If you collect go buy dbs, bins, ect...kicks that likely wont get retroed. They make money, we get overpriced low quality sneakers. Win win.I always read hypebeast this and that but everybody contributes to this. Wear what YOU like. Its not like everyone who buys retro jays didnt know what they were getting themselves into.

At the end of the day people gotta remember that theyre a pair of damb shoes that are meant to be worn. I understand collecting OGs, special releases like the DBs but people need to understand how mass produced these sneakers are. Its not like theyre really that limited.

People aren't smart. We're talking about teenagers and those that live in the hood spending money they should be saving on shoes. You think these people understand that an LE like Cavs or Thunders gets 200K pairs produced? Wow, we're all SO special! I probably have 60-70 pairs of Js right now, so I have no leg to stand on as far as buying more shoes than I could ever need. However, I'm not dumb enough to believe I'm special or shocked when I see someone else with some heat on their feet. Nike is the biggest athletic apparel company in the world. Jordan sells more basketball shoes than any other brand in the world. You are not special for wearing Jordans!

Thats so true, people dont understand that... Idk the last time you been in a Jordan line, but thats the exact reason why at 6am people wake up and put on the best kicks they own and go to the Jordan line... Now dont trash me for being a bit childish, but I love to go to a Jordan line and all the people are mad at me because I have on an OG penny, pippen, or whatever,  hell I even had on OG Fila Grant Hills when I was in line getting breds for my kids.... Dudes get pissed cause no one pays attention to the limited Jordans they have on, but are all over my non Jordan kicks I decide to bust out.... Its so funny to me, I buy Jordans dont get me wrong, but I think they are far from special, not near as special as other brands that never produced mass amounts or kicks you wont see on a day to day basis...

I showed up in the BRED line wearing my blackout goretex SB's.

IDGAF about what other dudes think. It's hilarious to me what they bust out just to stand in line. One dude had a strangled pair of 2012 Flints on, they looked sad.

It was casual Friday that day at work lol

Cynically thinking, do you think they will do something similar and in 2014 release a 3M version of the Bred 13? That would make us all fools for buying the inferior one this weekend.... but JB made money off most of us, and they won... again.

Hey guys i just got word on facebook from kof page that crawfish bentley ellis are restocking at finish line and nikes on the 27th of this month idk bout u guys but im liking these random re releases since i couldnt get all the pack ima def cop these for retail Kill the Hype

I love it.. better yet how about you re-introduce jumpman23.com and do online surveys.  Present all models in the Jordan series  and colorways that have dropped and ask the consumer what they want retro'd.. within reason.  Then take pre-orders and start production.  This can be done over and over every year.  You can still give us limited and hype releases...and throw in some retro + colorways to make some more profit....but focus on the greatness that the Jordan shoe should represent.  Or how about you just start over.  Re-introduce yourself as a company that is going to invest in quality materials and a better product.  Make your shoe a Premium BRAND.... not something built on hype.  Demand quality, and realize your consumers aren't just minorities in low-income demographic areas.  Increased market share is out there.....but includes all the consumers outside of these areas that have the money to spend wait what do we know we are only consumers right....

That olive 9 restock is Back up on SNS again today. http://www.sneakersnstuff.com/en/product/10784/jordan-brand-air-jordan-9-retro

Are these restocks actually lowering resell prices?

And despite these restocks, it seems like people are still missing out on NT, so imagine the average person

Why would anybody be happy about a retailer holding shoes? I don't get how this is a step in the right direction maybe for the unoriginal colors like the jokers but for retro colorways especially bred 11s that's just dumb.

I don't get the reasoning for this thread. Where are the numbers? Anyone can say what you said and get people to cosign it.

Doesn't seem like it to me. Restocks are going quickly and resellers are just picking up more pairs.

The proof is in the 6 or 7 shoes that I listed at the start of the thread, and the fact that shoes are now having a 2nd release date (much more than a restock) a few months after they drop (raptors, all the killroy pack 9's), or the fact they changed the release date of the thunders to produce more, or the fact that GR shoes (bred 13 and Olive 9 which were a limited GR due to no kids sizes) are showing up in stores with very limited numbers all of a sudden...

No one is talking about restocks..... restocks and 2nd release dates are two different things...

We call those restocks. There is no second release, because there's no second release date on any of them besides the Kilroy pack. It's not advertised. There is no announcement on Twitter.

So it's a restock.
