26/10 W/UFE is absolutely shocking... I don't think I've ever seen those numbers from Caro before...

Her form would indicate a steamroll over Peng Shuai in straights, in over her head.

I don't think Serena will retire until she gets 18. After that, who knows. I have heard that Li Na may retire during the Asia swing of the schedule but that's all I heard.

I have checked tennisforum.com and I'm not seeing anything. If anyone would know it would be them.

Nobody is reporting this. If it was that bad she would have quit doubles that day. Probably was an intentional momentum killer that backfired.

I like your style. :smokin

I hope the Murray Novack match is a good one.

Love the sport. Girls come, they go. Tennis will always be there, and the USO is once a year like any other Slam.

Like playing even more than watching. Although I have long expressed my desire to attend the quarters or semis, if not for the inflated prices.

It's funny, I grew up heavy in football, basketball, and baseball. Football remains, but soccer, tennis, and boxing/UFC have taken recent priority.

Didn't know Michael Chang was Kei's coach. Asian power out there.
Early, initial returns have payed major dividends for Nishikori. In 2013, we wondered if Kei had a next gear. '14 has answered some questions about Nishikori making the jump. However, he's 0-2 vs. Stan, and history is not on Kei's side for late USO finishes.

Early break for Stan. Kei is flat, as expected. Doesn't have his legs under him. Never thought Nishikori would win the first set, but I do expect more in the second. That's the crucial difference-maker. Go down 0-2 in sets, and Kei is not winning three in a row after a grueling five-setter with one of the biggest servers on the men's side in Raonic.

Down goes Vika smh.
Expected three sets, even in a loss. Vika has the heart of a lion/champion, never goes down easily. As seen against the ropes with Krunic most recently. Form and fitness were her doom this summer.

So I'm going to miss Andy and Nole as it's going to be around 2am start here in the UK and my days of being up at that time on a weeknight are long gone.

I will get my view in early then and of course I want Andy to win but I think it will be Nole in 4 tight sets.

However I will stick my head above the parapet and predict that whoever wins this match wins the whole thing. Whoever is on good enough form to beat the other won't be fearing Stan or Fed.

Enjoy it guys.

PS Caro to win the ladies - better for the game right now than another Serena win I feel (unless your US tennis of course)

Roger is my men's pick. Destined for #18.

Caro over Makarova on the women's side.

Word is Vika was dealing with food poisoning... but wouldn't talk about it... gave all the credit to Makarova.

Kei getting out-muscled right now.

Nishikori hitting flat. Stanimal is relentless early, going after it with heavily-weighted shots.
