The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 Oz Open Nadal Out)

Can't believe that Roger lost the first set but he may still win the match in under 2 hours. Yikes!

BTW, anyone know who's doing the play-by-play w/ Al Trautwig?

What's the big deal about getting signals from your coaches? I know it's against the rules but why? The commentators mentioned how sharapova's coach had to tell her to eat a banana a few years back. Forgot about that.

Tennis players are supposed to figure things out themselves which is one of the unique and great things about tennis. Part of the sport is making on the fly adjustments based on what you see not what your coach sees.

The WTA and ATP are relaxing the on court coaching rules in tour events other than majors and I expect to see on court coaching in majors in the next few years.

Yuri Sharapova and Carlos Rodriguez are and were the biggest on court coaching cheaters on the women's side. Justine Henin was mentally soft without Carlos and his hand gestures and Yuri used to relay messages to Maria and I remember the banana controversy like it was yesterday.

Door cracked Vika! No one wanna talk about Roberto taking kyrigos to school last night? Dude made him pump the brakes.

Amazing. Fed dropped five games just in the first set alone before the rain, but only dropped four games total for the rest of the match once play resumed. Thank you, Mother Nature!

And Taylor... and Ryan... and Donald...

Give CiCi a few more years...

Decent bit of quality between Muzz & Jo right now...

Heat & humidity will be tricky.

Our man is returning well- but never know with him this season - form has been so patchy but quality match from both players so far
