IIRC, Genie's originally strained her abdominal muscle back in Miami, so her injury has been lingering since then... That's around the time she began struggling, I believe. Genie really needs to just take the rest of the year off to heal and wait until next season to make a comeback. There's no point in risking her injury even further.

I think Halep has been dealing with a foot problem for a little while now. She fired her coach recently as well... It's disappointing because I had really high hopes for her going into the French Open and Wimbledon this year.

Ana has all the physical tools but she lacks the mental toughness which explains why she can get to the semis of one tournament and crash out in the early part of another. When she's on she can beat anyone in straight sets. When she's off she can lose to anyone in straight sets.
