Hard to say who needs  it more... Rafa needs it for the confidence heading into '16, while Fed needs  it after his R1 loss in Shanghai and heading into the WTF's.

One thing's for sure, Rafa will be the overwhelming underdog given that this is his worse surface, that this is Fed's home tourney & that Fed's overall form has been better.  Previous head-to-heads will mean nothing.

I was hoping Rafa would get the win but Roger played better in the 3rd set.

Fed looked like he was trying to hold in how happy he was to get the win against Rafa. You just know he wants to close the gap in that H2H as much as he can before he hangs it up.

Although most of his wins were in three sets, Rafa played very well the entire week from what I saw. He showed plenty of flashes of his old self. I really believe he'll be back in form around clay court season next year.

Oh, and Aga wins Singapore. Only 5 UFE against Kvitova.

It's an amazing turnaround for her after starting the year off so poorly. Apparently, she's the first non-GS champion to win the WTA Finals since 2006. Could the ninja possibly win Wimbledon next year...?

Re Rafa: During his earlier rounds, I felt he only looked so-so.  Missed a lot of shots... shanked a lot of balls.  Didn't have his best "stuff" but competed very well to stay in it.  Started playing much better vs Richie and looked pretty good in this final.  He had his chances when Fed started misfiring with his BH early in the 3rd, but missed some critical points.  Rafa shouldn't be too disappointed... fought well to reach the final on his worse surface.

Re WTA Final:  Troll tennis! LOL.  The 2 players that went 1-2 in the round-robin matches go on to beat the 3-0 RR players in the semis!  I wasn't able to watch all of it, but Aga was really solid.  Petra can be so hot-cold... I'm guessin' she went cold towards the business end of match.  Would love to see Garbine have a huge 2016.

Fed kept his composure for most of the match thankfully. Good win for Aga. I'm sure most wrote her off based on her early struggles this year.

I'm just glad Aga got that win. She is too talented not to have a big title to her resume.

So... we can talk about female tennis players here, right?

I was looking at the wiki page of Simona (Halep) and read something interesting about her... things...

Did you guys know, about... you know...

We are all aware of the surgery.

Simona has a small frame and she had serena sized bazoongas before the surgery. Must've been exhausted during matches to have to deal with all that bouncing.

Considering her age and health issues, what an amazing accomplishment.  Well done.

Speaking of amazing, Nole's season has been ridiculous... 3 slams... 6 masters (a new record)... just insane.

If Venus can hold on to this ranking it should keep her away from Serena early in slams next season. Novak owns the ATP. Nothing new here.

Hopefully Venus can at least stay in the Top 8 for the Australian Open. It might be tough since she does has a title to defend at the beginning of the year.

Nole, Fed and Rafa could potentially be in the same group for the ATP Finals...

Federer-Djokovic XLIII happens tomorrow in the round robin portion of the ATP Finals. Their H2H record is currently at 21-21.
