Really, not much drama... a lot of players yell 'come on'... I didn't get what the big deal was. 

Sloane, please make it interesting.

Lol Sloan is saying that cuz they friends but it shows Serena thinks she a top player. 

WIll be interesting to see if Serena does another couple of come ones to rustle up Sloan. 

Yeah, I knew they were friends, but I just found it funny that Sloane said that.  It's not the first time Serena's (or any other player) did that... certainly won't be the last. For Serena, she doesn't care who's across the net... she's there to win. 

Anyway, highlights from that crazy match...

Another toughish battle for Nole today. For the most part he moved well and hit the ball cleanly, but in the 2nd set, Berd really stepped it up. Lost it all in the 3rd and 4th.

Stephens has a long way to go still, but she's a great player. Serena has been playing damn near flawlessly. As long as she doesn't tweak that ankle anymore, she has to be the favorite.

Serena has to get healthy for the French Open. This is her first loss since last year at the French if I'm not mistaken when everyone and their grandmother said "shes on her way out" and went on to win 2 more Grand Slams plus a gold.

Props to Sloane. But Serena made a lot of mistakes. Sloane has to capitalize on them better as she advances.

Anyway, great job to Stephens. IMO, its hard to play a hurt player when they are still playing tough because you are expected to win now. Sloan kept her cool and closed the match. Props to the future of womens tennis.

This. How was Sloan doing prior to the injury? People let their hatred for Serena dictate reality. I'm rooting for Sloane hardbody now and hoping Nike gets them Sloane/Serena ads ready, but not sure how I feel about her beating Serena in her state and now going up against Azaranka.
