Much respect to Tim Smyczek for doing the right thing. I wish him all the best for his future career.
 
I'm really glad the Williams sisters decided to withdraw from doubles. I'd much rather see the two focus their energy more on singles this year. Venus should definitely benefit the most from this since she looked pretty gassed at the US Open after playing both.

Props to Seppi for a heck of a match. Kept waiting for him to crack or tire out, but never really lost his composure. Disappointing that Federer lost this early, but, unfortunately, I really thought that his GS title window closed last year anyways.
