Justin Timberlake Thread: The 20/20 Experience Due 3/19, Link to "Suit & Tie" ft. Jay-Z on 1st Page

track is flames. def has a smooth vibe to it.
Jays verse was decent 6.8 out 10 (nothing to write home about)

Now I am expecting JT to either perform on Jimmy Fallon or SNL now. :smokin

him with the roots would be :wow:

Song is tight, I dunno what other people are talking about. But why do I feel like Adam Levine from Maroon 5 had something to do with the writing of this song? It just sounds like one of his songs..

James Fauntleroy writing on this album apparently? I read he did some writing on this single too :nerd:.

Anyways, I'm still enjoying it. The background keyboard synths playing during and after Hov's verse still got me vibing to those alone. I'm not production or instrument savvy, I just love running through a song and listen/study the different layers.

^ And cookielover, damn, JT appearance on Jimmy Fallon with the Roots playing this "Suit and Tie" joint live will be :smokin

After a couple more spins, this song is fire

Old man Hov wack tho

The song is outselling Sexyback

Wow and it's 6 and a 1/2 years later

It seems he did work with Pharrell too and others not just Timb

Not a fan of the beat and the chorus is atrocious. So simple and bland

Sounds like a Robin Thicke record

I'm tired of the grown man, suit, tuxedo songs.

this is how i feel...i'm interested in what he has tho...

I never listened to FSLS or whatever so i have no expectations for this album

Nah man...I'm not looking for no Sexyback or My Love  .  I love good music...and I just want some heat from him, which I'm sure we'll get.  My comment comes from you and me both being NT'ers for like 10 years.  Whenever an artist drops a record...you usually head straight to the "numbers" was my only point.  For example...Usher started droppin weak *** records (he's one of my favorites, but the truth is the truth) and you would be like..."Yall are just hating.  It's gonna go number 1 on the charts."  Now look what happened to Usher.  His sales and status are at the lowest he's been in many years.  Cause he's made some weak music just tryna fit into the current sound, and people ain't rockin wit him like that.

I don't think Justin is gonna make that same mistake with corny *** euro pop records.  He's gonna try and go super R&B wit this album, and possibly get "credited" for bringing R&B back in the mainstream if him and Timbo do it right.

thats a good point...i think Beyonce MIGHT go in that direction too...i read something where she was talking about herself and a few others she was coming up with bringing back R&B to what it was before...

i can see this happening FINALLY

Yeah. Even if "Suit & Tee" is lukewarm overall, it's a great sign he didn't decide to take his talents to the europop/house/dance/whatever scene just cause it's what's hot on the radio these days

It's not really lukewarm though its gonna be his best selling single

And is receiving huge AirPlay

Shoulda kept the intro/Hov verse beat. Don't like the change up. Hov verse was alright. I was satisfied. Justin sounds real good on here.

I rate it a 6/10 overall. Good single.
