Justin Timberlake Thread: The 20/20 Experience Due 3/19, Link to "Suit & Tie" ft. Jay-Z on 1st Page

Not a fan of the beat and the chorus is atrocious. So simple and bland

Sounds like a Robin Thicke record

I'm tired of the grown man, suit, tuxedo songs.
this is how i feel...i'm interested in what he has tho...

I never listened to FSLS or whatever so i have no expectations for this album

Expecting great things from both Tim and Justin. FS/LS was so epic. Still listen to that **** till this day.

Anyways, this track is dope. Was expecting a bit more but I'm def enjoying this the more I listen to it. Can't wait.

Saw this on James Fauntleroys twitter: "@jtimberlake 'Suit & Tie' Hit No.1 in 31 countries! It also went to break U.S. records: biggest song debut, airplay increase EVER!"

This dude Fauntleroy is lowkey winning, dudes got his Cocaine80s thing going on and he co-wrote the JT track (most likely some of the album too) and the new Destinys Child track with Pharrell.

I went to some fancy schmancy bar/steakhouse and I heard this play. Set the tone proper, got people smiling and vibing with it too  . Folks are really glad he's back.

Just read this interview with UFC's Dana White. I've actually met him on 2 occasions & he was always gracious with his time. I've also witnessed him being cool with other people around him. Yes he's arrogant but he's cool with meeting & talking to people. Interesting feedback about Timberlake....

You told me the story, and I can't remember the specifics. You met some celebrity or someone and they didn't give you the time day and it stuck with you. You said, 'When somebody shouts out to me in a crowd or someone says can I talk to you...

That story you are talking about was when I was a kid. It was at the library here in Vegas and it was the guy from like the Channel 13 news. I was a little kid and I ran up to him and I was like, 'Hey, could I get your autograph?' Could not have been a bigger d---.

Yeah, I was so blown away by that. That was like the first celebrity I had ever seen. He was such a d---. Yeah, you know, I said I would never treat people like that and never be like that.

Recently me and my wife were at Nickelodeon Awards and we were backstage with the Black Eyed Peas in their dressing room hanging out.
First of all, this thing is in L.A., so every guy on the planet wants to get their kids backstage with all the people that are back there. They had Bieber, Selena Gomez, all these people are back there. So my kids are back there and they're taking pictures with all these people and stuff.
There [are] no other kids backstage. No other kids. Just my kids, and I think I have Lorenzo's daughter with me, too. This was a few years ago. You name it, A-list, all the A-listers that the kids would love are backstage. The biggest d---head back there was Justin Timberlake.

Don't say that.
Just such a complete jack off, yeah.

Blew your kids off?
Just couldn't have been a bigger d---.

He's a big UFC fan, I thought.

I don't know if he's a UFC fan or not, but I'm not a big Timberlake fan. Takes two seconds to say hi to a kid. Takes two seconds. I never run by anybody. If you're a fan of the UFC and you like it or your kids like it, why would I not want to talk to you? Why would I not?

Ahh then there is the story of him going to a ball with a marine or whatever

All celebrities have their days, I'm not defending nor prosecuting him but Dana White seems like a huge d bag to me

Songs cool.. very catchy... would have loved to have had either no Hov/ a different rapper or just no rapper at all

Come on man.

Did I say anything untrue? I never said he was MJ but when you look back he's gonna be one of the biggest artists of our generation

If the fact what Suit and Tie is doing isn't proof of that

Explain you're come on man before you make a statement and that's it

There is no artist in any generation like MJ so it's a mute point.
There is no comparison to be made between JT & Mike besides the fact that they both sing and dance, you did the same thing with Usher.
If you want to talk music Off The Wall, Thriller & Bad. Justin's work cannot stand up to any of those albums, Justified was filled with production that MJ turned down.
Timberlake is a big artist but that =/= him being this generation's MJ, he hasn't had close to the same impact and never will.

I disagree but to each their own

There is no MJ but artists will still have impacts like him on a smaller scale which JT's first two albums have done

i really hope the neptunes will do at least a quarter of the production. from what it looks like, his new album will be contaminated with timbaland's beats

Justified > FS/LS

yes FS/LS was a bigger album pop wise but Justified still ***** on it
^^^THIS^^^

FS/LS was just ok to me, but Justified was the business. I personally feel that the Neptunes' tracks are crazy for singers. Pharrell slides in there with some background vocals and kills them *****s. Timbo is great for the pop type, but the Neptunes bring out the soul in cats.

My post should have read I've met Dana White twice (& observed him with other people). Reading it back it was kind of vague. He is arrogant, but he was extremely gracious with his time & glad to chat about boxing. He was also completely cool with people coming up to him for pics & autographs. I like JT's first album, the second had some decent cuts (but no where near thorough like the first). The new song is awful IMO. It sounds way to contrived to me. Hope the rest of the new album is much better.

I find the MJ comparisons amusing. Pharrell Williams had written Senorita, Like I Love You, & Usher's You Don't Have to Call for MJ (along with some other songs), but his people declined to use them. If you listen to the melodies & specifically the vocal bridges you can hear the MJ influence...

Well MJ's people failed him bc all the songs were big hits while MJ toiled in obscurity after 2001's flop comeback (which I bought).

My point was this album seems poised to become bigger than the first two which would solidify JT as potentially our generations biggest music star, I never said he was MJ but he's potentially gonna crave out a pretty exceptional legacy

Yeah MJ clearly had bad people around him. His manager actually told Pharrell after listening to the demos that the songs weren't good enough for MJ. Actually I think alot of the material on Justified was intended for MJ but was later modified for JT...Sad, sad, sad...
