New York Governor Wants State to Legalize Weed in 2013

if cigarettes are legal, I don't see why weed should not be. Seriously.

if it were to ever get the to the national lever, the alcohol, tobacco, and pharma lobbies would be the biggest forces standing in the way towards legalization. they view canibus as competition so they will spend billions to fight this. 
 
dang and i really wanted to leave ny too...maybe i'll stick around a little longer

I don't smoke and don't plan on smoking when it becomes legal, but i'm for it. Let people cook.

I know that ,

but in a country of freedom where cigarettes, alcohol and some strong medication are legal, weed should be too.

Like the other guy said, it's all about taboo.

I seriously think in 25 years from now, it will be legal in most country.
 
It's not the first time he's mentioned this. But hopefully with Washington and Colorado doing it now it'll push it through.

And seriously **** Bloomberg. He's the pioneer for the stop and frisk program.
Weed is actually already decriminalized in New York as mentioned before but it cannot be in "public view".

With the stop and frisk program, when someone is frisked, it brings the marijuana into public view therefore it becomes a misdemeanor and that person is arrested.

Cuomo wants to get rid of the public view loophole. Bloomberg and co. opposes it because its a "gateway for other crime". Such a stupid view.
I really hate Bloomberg, he already had a third term without anyone voting for him. Taking the 6 train everyday with dozens of security, get out of here with that.

I do not smoke, but getting drugs in ny is as easy as getting a cheese pizza. It is already decriminalized off the books, but now they are just going to put it on paper.
Cops won't mess with you unless you are being blatantly disrespectful and obnoxious about it like smoking right in from of them, or in a train station or Times Square.

I wonder how the literature will be worded for people holding civil service jobs tho.
