Thirst for followers vol. follow then unfollow

Is it just me or has there been a recent trend in people following users on twitter/instagram then unfollowing them immediately after the user follows them back?

I've always used social network sites strictly for people I know personally but when I jumped on instagram a few months ago, I started getting follows from random people. I usually follow back out of courtesy :lol: but within the last couple weeks I've been getting people who add me then when I follow them, they unfollow me. Its always those chicks extra thirsty for attention too. Is this what's hot in the streets right now? Do people really want more followers that they go through all that effort? I never cared before but its just getting out of hand now. I had to throw my profile on private and I'm going back to only accepting people I know :smh:
 
I don't use tweeter but, I got IG. I only follow back NT and people I personally know. I would say 15% of NT'ers do this. :lol:
 
I'll follow someone if they look like their pics or tweets will be cool.

i will unfollow if i'm not entertained by them or don't talk to them directly at all, i give a damn if they follow me back.

I won't follow back anybody unless you talk to me or got cool pics either. i don't like my timelines being cluttered with people i couldn't care less for.

it's not a big deal b.

You're right, it's not a big deal which is why I'm so perplexed by this "movement". If you wanna follow me and decide you're not entertained, go ahead and hit the unfollow. I'm talking about those people who hit follow, then within minutes after following them, they hit unfollow. At first, it was amusing but after the 10th time, within a week I'm wondering is this some new trend?

Like I said before, all the culprits seem to be the thirst trap chicks posting pics for dudes to beast after :lol: I don't follow those types of chicks and refuse to give them any of the attention they're thirsting for :smh:
 
Some people just want to look cool that they have more followers then them following people. I saw someone that had 2k followers and he was following only 5 people
 
Has ninja hood explained why he follows zero people on Instagram? I haven't run across his profile in some time but that's how it was last time I saw it.

I've asked him several times about this but he ignores me. I see you ninja.
 
this generation is pathetic thats why

and girls do this because, once again, you all allow it.

 It is annoying. I only follow people I know or people with cool pics. Even NTers, I don't want to just look at a wall of shoes. I use WDYWT for that. 
 
I'm in the sand boat and boxden. I follow people I know. NT fam or people that take cool pics. I don't follow none of those trap chicks at all

Those trap girls need followers and likes to validate themselves. Which I find ******ed as hell. And they post shout outs. Those are when you post pics of someone else and caption it "go follow xxxxx!"

My friend showed me this chicks page and it was filled with pics of girls that weren't her and all the captions said to go follow people

Crazy how a little number of likes and followers makes people do dumb ****

How can you tell when you have been unfollowed? Not an avid IG head.

But anyhow one thing that urks me is how you can request to follow someone but they feel like they are a IG god when there is a big disparity between followers and following. Why do people accept requests when they don't intend on following back ?

The worst is when you follow someone you know but arent exactly best friends and they don't follow back like is your ratio that important

Theres an app for iPhone called "followers" that let's you see who unfollow you. It's very useful

I didn't know that either but I guess that makes it slightly less pathetic knowing that someone is manually waiting for a follow back and then hitting unfollow :lol:

I usually only add people I know so I only follow a few people and have a few followers (>50) so when I noticed a whole bunch of people following me then unfollowing, it was pretty noticeable. I didn't know there was an app that did that though. It's still pathetic people care about their follow ratio to that extent :lol:
 
no IG twitter or FB i just think its corny

all my friends hit me on the cell though

my girl has an FB/IG id go on hers to mess around and post stupid **** time to time :lol:

i just follow the news, and some sports site
dont really follow "people"
 
I just got IG and I noticed the same thing :lol:. And it's not even folks I don't know, sometimes its folks I know. Brb clearing out my ig.
