Just got a ticket because I was told I didnt yield "enough" while he had someone pulled over on the side of the highway...... What??? I slowed down to 45 on 60, eat a trouser snake.

They don't serve and protect anyone, they just collect money for doing things that everyone does at all times on the road.

Was it a multi-lane road?

If no, roughly how much distance did you cover while slowing down? Was your car going slowly at the time of passing the officer's car?

If yes, did you get in another lane?

^^ it was a 4 lane that just turned into a 3. I was on the 4th lane all the way to the right so I switched over. He had the guy pulled over right when the lane ended which is where I was because I just followed that lane till it was over. I couldn't switch further left because there were cars on that lane blocking me. I slowed down but there was literally no where to go and no time to do it in. They were on top of a hill so I it's not like I could of seem them from a afar distance. On top of that he and the other car were on their way out so his lights were off and they were already moving (aka just waiting to reenter the highway
 
i despise traffic cops as well. i always look at them like they weren't good enough to chase down actual bad guys. it's a ****** up way to view them but i just hate getting tickets
 
Most of the time people complain about tickets, they were in the wrong but they're made at the cop for enforcing it.
 
That sucks. Have no idea what he expected you to do if you can't switch lanes cause of traffic.

In Florida if you can't switch lanes they require you to slow down to 20mph under the posted speed limit. So if the OP was in Florida he was i the wrong.

The thing most people know, is that it costs the state more money to issue tickets than what they get out of them. And quotas are illegal. 90% of traffic cops' job is to make sure that people follow the rules by just being around. Nobody is a perfect driver and most people commit traffic violations all the time and they play on the fact that people know that.

Especially in he suburbs these dudes are the worst! In my parents neighborhood there used to be one dude always posted at a four way stop sign on a sunday morning busting dudes for rolling stops, this on a sunday morning.

And god forbid they catch somebody on the main road, 4 police cars to give one dude a ticket. I respect city cops because their jobs are obviously intense but

Maybe were you are. I went on a ride along with a cop friend of mine and in the city there are two types of police, patrolmen and traffic cops and he told me straight up the job of the traffic cops are to write tickets and generate revenue for the city. Also on the ride along he and his partner pulled 4 people over, wrote 0 tickets.
 
they r fine by me.....and im still working on my driving skills.........

not those parking ticket people tho......those meters

I'm gonna need to see the data behind that one.  And so what if quotas are illegal, cops break laws every day, who's gonna arrest them?

I don't get how people think it's fair for cops to pullover people for bs charges, like in OP's case, but they get away with rolling stops, running red lights, speeding on the highway, etc.  I would love to be the cop that arrests other cops and actually keep things fair...
 
there is this stop sign a couple blocks from my house and there is a cop parked behind a bush EVERY MORNING

every time I pass I either see him waiting or already writing someone up

i've never had a warning from a officer at a trap(speed trap, stop sign trap etc). Only warning was for a mechanical issue.

but I do see what you did there

I definitely believe there's a quota, what do these traffic cops have to gain from writing petty tickets all day.
