2014 Mercedes Benz CLA (New Entry-Level Benz) - AMG Shooting Brake not US-bound

I would actually consider buying it if it offered these 2 things for around $30k

1. Manual Transmission (Not a big fan of DCT)

2. 300+ hp (Anything but 208hp, that thing is weak)

With that money, I'd rather get the 370Z or a CPO 3-series. But I will keep my eyes on this one.

Nah, this just takes the place of the new entry level Benz.
Though the A-Class is slated to come out too and I'd imagine that might be in the $28k range or less? This is the one that is suppose to compete with the 1-Series and A3 but with the 128i starting at $23k, I just don't know. Can't imagine it being more than the CLA. Being a hatchback, I guess it is aimed more against the A3 which starts at $27k.

yo this is kinda fire. I ****s with hatchbacks. low front end looks dope and the typical german minimal wheel gap suspension, i like this ****. i drive a 2012 wrx hatch tho so i wonder if this would pack as much of a punch. :nerd:

Can't be. If that were the case, just get the CLS550 and have a 402hp V8 in your car than the 4cylinder turbo in the CLA45. I see it being price around the same price as the new M3, if not less.
 
Doubt it would be close to 75k, the base model is just under 30k, has to be closer to 45-55k.

Isnt the M3 around 67-75k?

The coils will be used to raise the car actually... Goin with 20s 10mm spacers n dif springs are apparently problly gunna be needed to avoid bending the rims over rougher road.

Ninja is right tho... Cars weak. Finally test drove like 2 weekends ago... They still don't eem have em on the lot. One maybe two n the showroom n the tester. Apparently turbos are being developed n the aftermarket...

The price of this car as I'd require it to enjoy is sky rocketing...

At this point I minus whale lease a new 5 series. Bone stock.

Nah. M3 coupe starts at $60k, I think the sedan was around $55k, maybe even less. The C63 AMG starts at $59k so the CLA45 AMG will likely be just below that being a smaller and cheaper version so I'd guess starting $50k-$55k, maybe even $45k.

This car doesn't cater to youth...it caters to the people who otherwise couldn't afford a BMW, MB.....and to the Honda/Hyundai/Kia drivers that wanna upgrade..

What is all this "people in the hood" stuff? I'll probably see more white outside the hood people driving these. Like people in the hood aren't allowed to buy what they want with their money but if it's soccer mom then it's no problem...

This will probably be as common as a civic and accord.

I just dont understand why anyone would purchase this. This junk will probably lack everything that the Mercedes Benz brand represents.

Affordability is fine, but some things should just stay the same.

This rant makes no sense. You asked why people would buy and then you already have it answered in a prior post. You ask what MB is doing and if they are joking but again you already answered it by saying these will sell like crazy to people who wants an entry level Benz and that "everyone" will have it like Mustangs and Chargers (which I think you could have used a better example a car that "everyone" has).

rfx45..this car is probably right up your alley..since you are leasing a bmw z4....some might call that a chick car....no offense.

Eh, I don't give a damn what people call my car. I also own an IS so my vehicles being called a "chicks car" on an internet forum isn't a big deal. I'm not insecure like that.
 
Not interested in this car, but I had to address something...People in the hood can afford 30K+ cars? You guys must be living in some well off hoods then, cause all the goons I see ride around in buckets with horrible paint jobs and "upgrades" :lol:

Oh and by the way, Margiela, go to Germany sometime and you'll see that almost all of the BMWs and Benzes on the roads are 3 series and C classes or lower. They don't use cars as a status symbol
