2014 Mercedes Benz CLA (New Entry-Level Benz) - AMG Shooting Brake not US-bound

Will this drop the price of the other benz's (c300 e350) ?

Nah, this just takes the place of the new entry level Benz.
Though the A-Class is slated to come out too and I'd imagine that might be in the $28k range or less? This is the one that is suppose to compete with the 1-Series and A3 but with the 128i starting at $23k, I just don't know. Can't imagine it being more than the CLA. Being a hatchback, I guess it is aimed more against the A3 which starts at $27k.

Well I'm just saying almost everyone that gets a c300 gets one because its the cheapest.

Now everyone is going to get this because is cheaper. I was asking that because Mercedes may have to push out the c300 and other models because this one will be so heavy.

Just a thought tho, may be able to get some nice discounts.

I can't only imagine the poor quality that will go into this at $29K. I've had a no option C300 as a loaner and the interior was poorer than a Honda Accord. You can get a top of the line Ford Fusion with everything for like $29K. That Fusion is a nice car for the price.

Unless you get that CLA fully loaded, which probably is like an extra $10K, you are just paying for only the name and would better off going with a Honda, Toyota, Ford, etc.

I'M MORE SURPRISED THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED THAT $20,000 BENZ THOUGH. THE HOOD WILL GO CRAZY FOR THAT

20k Benz the whole hood will be driving one.

Showed wifey this and she is in love. It either this or a IS for her by the end if the year.

She can't even drive but is dying of a Lex or Benz

c250 is cheaper than the c300

i'm pretty sure MB doesn't sell any cars without any options whatsoever. maybe just as loaners. when i was shopping everything had the p1 package at the very least

Forgot about that haven't seen one in ages lol.

I'm excited for this, the new A3 range, 1 & 2 series, Infiniti's and Lexus' new entry level, and the ILX with a proper motor. The "entry-level" C-3-A4 type cars are pushing 55k it's ridiculous especially when we're projected to make less than our parents.

P1 is basic as heck and doesn't change my point. Also, If you walk into a Benz dealer and ask to order a Benz with no options, you think they are going to tell you that you can't order it the way you want it?

This is naturally aspirated or is it blown? Probably blown. 258 ft/lb of tq from a N/A I4 would be incredible.

Turbocharged, 208-hp inline-4 engine delivering 258 lb-ft of torque. most people say the c250 is surprisingly quick for what it is and that has 201hp and 229 lb-ft of torque.

not sure why everyone's hating on it just because of the price point. smart move by mercedes, because this car will probably become their new top seller. i just can't wait for that cla45 to come out...i officially won't be in the cheapest amg available anymore...thought i was doing it til i'd run up next to people in their cl63's, sl65's, and whatnot thinking i'm doing it like them and they wouldn't even acknowledge my existence.

This is a baby momma car. I have no idea why nt likes such feminine vehicles.

Quite literally the only thing nice about this car is that it's a Benz.

This whole mentality is so ******g stupid. I'm not even into it but what makes it a "chick car"? Does it come with a sunflower on the dashboard?

Starting at $29,900... yeah this will be all over the streets.

yea but whats the base look like? i bet it looks like crap compared to the top model.

I believe what you see in the pics and ads are the base model. I don't really see any body add-ons as an option to the car outside of that little lip and everyone has been calling this a CLA. The CLA45 AMG will be the top end version, which we have not seen yet (outside of covered versions being tested). AMGs tends to be very aggressive and will likely have hood vents, CF accent and maybe even a spoiler?

This car is going to sell like crazy. The C class and GLK are Benz's top sellers, the CLA might do better than both. Plus, Benz had to come out with a lower priced CLS because of the other car brands that sell CLS-styled vehicles for 29k-49k. They did this to get their market share back from the Sonata/Sorento/CC.

If I can get this on a two year lease for >$349 a month with $2,500 or less down, I'll be looking at it hard.
