24 Looking to build Credit... What are some good tips on your first Credit Card

FOH. The Sapphire Reserve has the GOAT sign-up bonus, anyone with a half-decent score should apply anyway.
Only 700+ credit will get it. Chase has higher limits than Amex.

What kind of limits do they give? Right now I got a $24,900 limit on AMEX.
I mean in regards to credit scores.  Amex Platinum will be approved under 700.  Chase won't approve cards for people below 700 and it's different for each card and you need a higher credit score for each. Reserve requires the highest credit score.

But my Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Limit is $31k, which has been standard for other people.

Got it

Idk I'm seeing dudes getting approved for 10-20k limits

My **** ain't that established none of my cards are even 5k yet

You've been peddling your Discover referrals for years now and you're still not over $5k? Have you requested CL increases?

Honestly I don't use any of my cards really

I just use my debit card

Like others said. Smart way would be to use a card with rewards instead of debit card and just pay that off

For some reason I don't like that

And I requested one before and was declined, haven't requested one since

^ Why not just your CCs? It helps build credit + more eligible for CLIs.

Bruh.  Use your credit card for EVERYTHING and just pay it off every 2-3 days.  Act like it's a debit card.  You're throwing away value.

Don't pay him any mind, he just psuhes discover refferals doesn't care about CCs or CLIs much.

I have like 15 cards

Just acquired about 4 recently

I'm not really pushing the discover since I probably haven't even had a sign up in months [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]129300[/emoji]

You have 15 credit cards, but you only use your debit? Wow.  What a waste of credit and time.

why do you sign up for credit cards then? do you get the bonuses and then never use them?

Hey man, you guys can say what you want. As long as my credit is good that's all I care about
Better to have 1,000,000 points and good credit than just good credit.  You could be flying first class everywhere. But you be happy with that good credit. That's enough.

Only time you should be using a debit card is at the ATM when you need cash, even when I use the ATM I always be pulling on the card readers just make sure no funky stuff going on. Use credit for everything else. The rewards, extended warranties, and other perks are great especially if you are paying your cards off and not paying any interest. But most importantly, its to protect yourself from fraud. When fraud occurs and it involves your debit card, your bank account, and your money the banks don't give a damn about you, you have to initiate the claim and fight for your money back. With credit card fraud, best believe the credit card company is going to fight to make it right because its their money.

all of this

Someone from Reddit finally got the physical reserve card.

They said mine would be expedited, so hopefully I can get it by Friday. I also seen comments of people being denied for getting the card expedited. Anyone that got approved yesterday receive tracking info?

What's a good Reddit section like this thread? /finance or something? I had a tab for /financial freedom (or independence) open for a while but I never looked through
