24 Looking to build Credit... What are some good tips on your first Credit Card

I have been debating opening a Citi Bank checking account that offers a similar deal... $15k for 30 days and they give a bonus of $400.

Only real catch is you have to keep $10k after the 30days or they will hit you with the $25 monthly fee..

thoughts?
Sounds like a bad deal to me.

If you have 10K to just "sit on" then why not just invest it?

Can you cancel the account after 30 days? Most of them make sure you stick around for a few months before they give you the money.

So if thats true just find a checking/saving account that offer at least 1% without restrictions. If I did my math right they are giving you roughly 2.5% on your money only once and not compounding.

If you can avoid the fee then go for it. No sense in paying bank fees.

Wifey just got a new job so with holiday season approaching I figured it's time to go for the CSR. Instant approval and 17k limit. :pimp:

Make sure you use the $300 credit ASAP. Time is almost up. Call or secure message Chase to see when the exact date is if you still unsure when you'll use it all.

Bingo lol do some real investing instead of sitting money in a bank account for a couple hundred dollars.

Currently getting a 16.5% return on my money (10K) through an investment deal.

Wow dude i need to get on that
I dont know much about investing

Yeah if your sitting on 10K I'd start researching into investing.

Most likely you can't close the account after 30 days unless you want to pay an early termination fee. I believe it's 90 days before you can close.

Good looking out I would've put it off. Booking a cruise when the card comes. Can't seem to be able to get a card # before it arrives like AMEX and Discover.

Send a random secure message to Chase. Go to your sent items folder and it should have your account number on the heading.

My man! Any trick to getting the expiration and crv haha?
Expiration is month you were approved plus 3 years. So yours would be 11/19

Unfortunately you can't get your CRV with any tricks so all this info is pointless if they need it

Is there any way to remove a closed account from 6 years ago? Its stupid it was a macys card with a $160 total. Its closed now, but it still shows up with 30 reported missed payments. I know 7 years to fall off, but do you think its possible to contact them for a pay for delete? Should i try to dispute it first?

$5 a month for 30 months and we wouldn't have this discussion

I'm just confused how you missed 30 payments? You didn't get notified once? Odd especially over such a low amount

If you were out of a job that's understandable but anything else then idk

Actually looking at it was 9 years 11 months ago but it was closed 5 years ago.

I dont even think i was trying to make excuses i was very irresponsible.

Now i am trying to responsibility and tackle these derogatory marks.

Yes, 10 years ago would put me as a jobless teen.

Hey, I was wrong about this. If you don't have a December statement then it's too late to get the $300 for 2016. So any travel expenses you make will be for the 2017 credit.
EDIT: Nevermind  You're good. Either way you'll get the 2x $300 credit.
